forge mbc with heavy spring?

i just put the forge mbc in my car and put the heavier spring in it and turned it all the way down! Now in third gear i seem to get a perfect 22 psi of boost but in 5th it goes to like 25 or 26 psi? is this right or is my mbc set too high?

I'm running light spring to achieve 21 psi peak 3rd gear. I think spring rates are different though depending on which batch yours is from.

it just seems weird that in third gear it reads 22 and in fifth gear it reads 26? does that make sense?

Did you just recently get the UNOS? Try the soft spring and set your boost with it. I am using the soft spring and achieving 22psi in the 3rd and can go up to 25-26psi if I wanted to with the soft spring if I have race gas.

I ran the soft spring at 21 psi and it was only cranked about halfway up, so there's plenty of room for another psi. With my current setting, it's rock solid 21psi through all the gears, with no taper.

I was seeing pretty much the same thing as you did with the heavy spring. Forge said that it was probably caused by the heavy spring not being seated properly on its pedastal, but even after checking and reseating it, I still got the same thing. Being stuck with 91 octane fuel in Cali, the light spring was good enough for me, though.

Go light.

With the heavy spring all the way out I couldn't get it lower than about 32 PSI. With the light spring I'm running 28 with room to go.

i dont care what anyone says about what im about to say. but this is a fact. for my 2 mbc's at least.

i put the heavy spring in and boosted 22psi. i said f it and left it. i then noticed my boost was droping a few days later. i did all tests and what not for leaks and nothing. i took the mbc apart. long story short. the spring needs to brake in. befor you put it in compress it 50 times or so to get it loose and not so stiff. you will see the difference. then ajust your boost where you want it. worked for me and a few friends. or leave it in and watch it slowly drop as the spring brakes in and gets a lil softer then it used to be.
