Maximum boost for street/ ¼ mile

Hi
Earlier I had my car ecutek, the boost was about 21,5-22,5 Psi tapering down to
about 19-20 Psi.
Yesterday I put a MCB on the car and right now I run 23Psi peak at 26,1 for one sek and then gets back direct to 23 and I loose less boost then before.
The MBC will be change, I cost like 35$ this was just for testing.. will buy hallman instead and se if it peak less.

So the question is, what boost is safe to run on the
Street: ?
¼ mile: ?

And please: Don’t ask me to try search, just fast answer if you know.

My Car
Evo IX GSR
Ecutek
MBC
Elbow
Full exhaust
Open filter

22psi as long as u are tuned. also y do u think its ok to run more boost for the 1/4 then street? unless u are running race gas or alcohol, u still should not be running more than 22 psi on pump gas, unless pump gas for u is over 93 octane.

26psi could be dangerous. You should PEAK at around 23psi on 93oct, but I don't know what octane you are using. Do not set your boost for where it settles - set it for where it spikes. 26 is way too high.

You have 98RON, which is the same as our 93oct, so keep it at 23psi PEAK.

If you want to run higher boost on the track, then just use race gas. You can't raise your boost just because you're at the track - you need to have the proper octane.

do you happen to have a formula for what you need to run higher boost at the track?

Example: Tuned for 93 octane and run 22psi.....if you go to the track and want to run 26psi, how many gallons of 93 and 110 would you need to be in a safe area but dont want to overkill with the octane?

yah. while you think you're boosting 24.5 is helping. its actually just blowing hot air into the turbo and hurting it as well as knocking all over the place and retarding your timing. if you lower it to 23 you have better odds of hitting that 11 sec pass. plan on buying your self a new turbo soon if you don't want to heed this advice. stick to 23 max. if you want more get methanol or use race gas.

the car is more important than the time.

05evoGSR, no, there's no formula, and it's not that picky really. Basically, you can run XX boost on pump gas and XX boost on race gas regardless of the octane. The only way to really know for your car and your situation is by logging AFRs, timing, and knock to make sure they're in check. I've pretty much always done a 50/50 mix of 100/93, 104/93, or 110/93 and run ~25psi without worry. I now run 93+alky @ 26psi daily, but I'm custom tuned for it.

so basically if i am custom tuned for 22psi on 93 octane for daily driving and want to turn the boost up to 25psi at the track just have about 4 gallons of 93 in the tank and add 4 gallons of 104? Would doing this even yeild anything worth while or should i just stay with the 22psi and the 93 octane i am tuned for?
