Is this manifold crap? - The cheap Ebay stuff

I see these all the time on Ebay. And I've read a post or two about the Megan manifolds. Some seem to like it.

Are these worth the money - or should I just pony up for the nice stuff. To me, the runners and welds look pretty good. I could use some guidance here.

My Ebay Manifold cracked between 3 and 4 months old.

Many locals are using the Megan and they seem to be holding up good. One member's Megan cracked, but I think there were other circumstances that helped it to crack.

I am currently using the Grouppe-S.

All three of this manifolds are about the same price range.

megan manifolds are pretty popular i dont hear about many problems...i would jsut buy it from a reputatable person so if there is a problem they could handle it for you... scott from ttp is a cool guy...i hear a lot of positive feedback about him and zeus sells them too and he's a great guy too, very quick and cheap from my understanding

cheers

OK - that's good info. So for about $200, the Megan and GrouppeS work just fine.

Any other manifolds in this range that might be good to consider?

if you're going to spend $200, why not just get the ported/coated stock mani from Buschur. it's proven to make more power and has stock reliability. i have the ebay mani on right now but i'm in the process of porting my stock mani and getting it coated.

I have seen a Gruppe-S mani in person, and it was rather impressive.

I would go with that one over the Megan.

Honda -

The Buschur OEM makes more power than the aftermarket manifold? Or - just more power than OEM (obviously).

Hmmm.. maybe I could get mine Extrude Honed and port-match it myself. I was just under the impression equal length aftermarket manifolds produce more hp.

i haven't seen any back to back comparison between the megan/ebay type mani vs. ported oem mani. the only equal length mani that i know off that out performs the ported oem mani was the $900 full race mani. equal length do make more power in general because it keeps exhaust pulse from each cylinder separated and not interfere with each other before entering the turbine, but since the evo use twin scroll turbine, the exhaust are kept separated up till the turbine wheel. that's why you don't see that much hp gain going with equal length mani on the stock turbo.

I as well have an Ebay Manifold, but had it rewelded on the inside seams and a little on the outside to reinforce it. Then I had it ceramic coated. Lasted almost 8 months now, with no problems!

The only STRONG recommendation, do NOT USE those POS crap gaskets they give you with the manifold. Get new stockers, they are INFINITELY better.
