Adjustable Wastegate
Adjustable Wastegate
Can the Wastegate be made adjustable for Increased boost...ie..Threaded rod..Tighning INCREASES Boost 1 pound per turn....on ALL other Turbocharged Vehicles they Simply Remove the wastegate..Thread the Wategate Arm for Adjustability..replace it..and either Tighten the arm to INCREASE Boost or loosen the arm to DECREASE boost....VERY simple and RELIABLE Boost Control..in many ways it is BETTER than the Hallman Bleed valve a lot of guys use..Besides it being FREE!!
The stock rod is adjustable. There isnt much there but it can be done. The problem with doin so is the wastegate wont open as far. Many of the people who have don this have had irregular boost in different gears and spiking. I have the FP high load gate that is meant to be a adjusted and havent had any problems. I still have a a Forge MBC cause u cant adjust the rod after the car has been driven do to the heat and loation.
DO NOT DO THIS MOD!!!!!!
YOU WILL SCREW UP YOUR WASTEGATE!!!!
I am only telling you this because my wastegate is now shot, within 3000 miles
I had my wastegate threaded down near the bottom and could hold 28 pounds of boost all day long! The mod works great. . . For a little while. . .Im not upset though because while the wastegate was adjusted I ran my best times at the track!
JUST A WORD OF WARNING TO ANYONE WHO IS GOING TO ADJUST THEIR WASTEGATE!!

TWO OF US HAVE ALREADY SAID YES IT IS BUT DONT DO IT. Buy a aftermarket actuator that is meant to be adjusted. There about 125 bucks. Forge and Forced Performance make them.

Stock (Threaded) Replacement, and use that and Save the Stocker....
I think u only read what u want. Go ahead and do it and screw ur car all up and come back here and cry about how ur had problems and ur cars all screwed and and u need help to fix it. The actuall diaphram is different is them not the rod and adjustment part. Maybe this will fix ur "UNDER POWERED IX) as u say. Keep up the perfect launches.
