Help: Engine Light on because of BOV

Engine light came on after we installed a blitz BOV on the stock pipes. The Stock BOV was bolted into the intake and went in to the Intercooler. I don't know why. But we put the BOV in the intercooler piping and plugged the hole in the stock intake piping. What do I need to do to get the engine light off. It came on after I got into it. Did we install it wrong? Help someone.

^^^ +1 ECU meters the air from the stock bypass back into the intake, so when its not getting it it thinks something is wrong. I used to have the Blitz on my 240sx and there arent really any recirc. kits for it. No reason you cant make your own, but id just invest in the JDM MR DV or Forge DV.

Why would you even want to replace the stock diverter valve anyways?

I just wanted a atmospherical BOV. What ECU do I need to get rid of this? When the engine light is on does this effect the performance of the Evo 9's? TeStUdO where in MD are you at? Thanks people who responded. This is definitely a good thread with good people on it.

You would buy an entire engine management system just to hear the "pshhh"?????

If you need it that bad buy a hardpipe intake and some Upper IC piping.

Best advice is to get the MR valve....which...you should have since you have a IX.

Sell your car or get rid of that BOV.

"What ECU do I need to get rid of this?"
A-Your brain. Really though, no ECU can fix that unless you go from MAF to speed density. And why pay $$$$ for "whoosh"?

In this case: engine lights = bad : performance = bad.

This is not a good thread, it has been covered 1 billion times. Search VTA BOV. I must be one of those bad people.

Stock plastic VIII DV did suck, but come on people those IX metal ones are pretty good. If you really have to have a BOV get a APS/Forge.

Isn't the APS duel vent, and makes the noise anyway? Go that route...

I am ok if my car is not working 100%, since 1989 I have my Toyota Supra with BOV VTA, 1991 Nissan 300ZX TT dual BOV VTA, 1997 Supra TT w/Blitz BOV VTA,2003 Subaru WRX w/HKS BOV VTA, 2003 EVO 8 W/ bov VTA and now 2006 EVO 9 BOV w/ VTA, None of my car give me problem, so I really don't care if my car is working 100% because the BOV VTA !! You can do whatever to your car because its your car, not mine !!
