Revolver cam gear settings???

I'm about to get my car tuned tomorrow(again) with gears I just put in for my revolver cams. I'm lookin to ultimately get a little better spool and have some better torque. I'm runnin a 35r with a 2.3 liter stroker with AMS's VSR intake so I'm lookin to make up for some of the lost low end with it. Has anyone had any luck with particular settings with these cams yet? Maybe buschur can provide some useful info? I'm aware of there being general settings like +2/0 gives better spool and torque but I'm wondering about these specific cams. Anyone have any good input?

I know the guys at Revolver like the 2/0 setting for their cams. They tested different settings and settled on that. If they were on here more I am sure they would have some input for you.

your talkin +2/0 right? I'm wondering how this would compare to the -4/-1 settings people have been talking about for the 272's. I guess its just about getting some more LSA. Ted B any words of wisdom?

Yes.
Ted B will give you his opinion but IMO compares everything to HKS cams and will probably give you settings based on HKS 280s.

I hear ya. I've seen many of his posts and would be hoping for some general cam timing info. I know certain settings dont work for all cams thats why i was asking specifically about revolvers. I'll give that a try then. +2/0

Damn, $1500 for your cams!
Be funny if you sold them and Revolver finally had stock again like 2 days later. :P

Try PMing mttam510 maybe he will see it and chime in.

Timzcat, I talked to Jason on the cam settings when I 1st got it .. and he mentioned -2/0 not 2/0 .. he also recommended -4/-2 for smaller turbo I think..

I've tried 0/0 and -2/0 .. frankly .. 0/0 has a buttload of low-mid grunt compared to -2/0 where the hp curve is an angle at rev cut (7800rpms cut) probably shifting my powerband way beyond 8000rpms ..

open to suggestions just in case he pm'ed me wrongly

HKS are ground on 110 LCs, while Revolvers are ground on 109/111. This means that installing Revolvers straight up is like installing HKS at +0.5/+0.5.

I do not recommend advancing the Revolver intake cam at all, unless one really wants to flirt with a potential valve to piston contact problem. Be advised.

The -2/0 setting suggested by Revolver will smoothen the idle slightly and shift power and spool slightly later. For large turbo setups (e.g. GT35R and up), I might try -2/-2, or maybe even -2/-3.

For a relatively stock-sized turbo application with good fuel and tuning capability, yes I will.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again Ted B. I remember reading about the cosworth cams and how they have that same property where they're ground with different LCs so its almost like they already come advanced or retarded a certain amount. I'll give the -2/-2 a try tomorrow then see what -2/-3 does for it.
