That is what we thought it looked like, but I have never installed an aftermarket exhaust with a v-band. Sure, plenty of wastegates, but never an exhaust. Oh well... it was not what we wanted, so out came the saw and the welder.

When is the car going to be tuned at TopSpeed? I'd like to take a look at it and see how it does.

AMS baby, AMS. Look at the fit. And the parts you can't see fit just as good. Great brace to support the weight, has never leaked, goes on in three hours max.

i have alot of pictures of the FR kit i installed on my evo. You can search my user name and find it. On my Evo 8, i had no issues with header fitment. That leaves two options. The header wasnt made right or the head casting is different. I was quite un-impressed with my hardware and proximities as well. It was a tough install that required me to source several parts at my expense. Even getting a new $400 radiator, as the KOYO will not work. I must say however after the headache, i have one of the nicest kits on the market. You may be upset now, and I was too, but later you will be quite pleased!!! Ray

Well, your story is now gone, but I can say the oil line issue is something we encountered, but we solved it (and it now fits PERFECT) by clocking the turbo.

Your turbo vs. engine mount issue is something we ran into also, but solved by cutting the engine mount on that side away a bit. It now fits very well.

I am sure all these issues can be resolved easily, and I have no doubt that FR will be willing to work with these people. Like I said, My friend and I were the installers, not the customers.

I think we may have just gotten a bad manifold, since all the bad issues (downpipe fitment, manifold fitment) could relate back to that...

i suspect the evo9 head is slightly different, i installed a FR replacement manifold on an evo9 and the fitment was alot tighter than on the evo8. will check into it more closely for a concrete answer.

*edit after reviewing the pictures, they appear to the naked eye to be the same. kind of baffled on why yours didnt fit correctly.

Sorry you had problems. It sounds as if your friend did not buy a complete kit? Regardless, i will figure out what the problems are and solve them ASAP.

If there is a manifold problem, let us know. All our manifolds are made identically, if there is something wrong with yours, we will send you a brand new one and swap it out

If the downpipe hangs too low, let us know!! We will send you a brand new one and swap it out.

I am unaware of these fitment problems you speak of and our hardware selection was HEAVILY improved after ray raulston's comments on the oil return line. If you were missing hardware, TELL US, we will send you new hardware

We arent here to take your money and screw you. We work VERY hard to make the best manifolds, best downpipes etc possible, and have every intention of making our customers happy.

please email me back with the Name the order was placed so we can figure out what was shipped to him and where the problems lie. thank you

As you can see, I edited my first post letting people know before they even read the story that full race is being helpfull and fully willing to resolve any issue. I have renewed faith in the situation. I will have my friend contact you as soon as they are done tuning. Thanks for being a great company and wanting to help...

I have to say I have seen many full race honda manifolds and they all fit perfectly, I cant imagine this was more then a 1 time thing...

are you leaking at all?
that is correct, there is no gasket between turbine housing and downpipe on a 4 bolt or 5 bolt housing. Out of curiosity why would you want a 5 bolt Ford style over the 4 bolt Garrett style? they are more on center and will not flow as well

correct, we have 3" vbands on the end of our downpipes. They are MUCH nicer to work with than 3 bolt flanges.

And this is why i think you will be around for a long time. Way to go Geoff. By the way, i hold the shop record on a Mustang Dyno here in Tucson.......Problem is i think i maxed out the turbo. Might have to try a 35r.......we'll see......Ray
