check you fuel pump relay first you can find the location of that relay on you owners's manual if you dont know how to test a relay just go buy a new one is going to cost you around $20.00,and while you are at the part's store ask for one of this spark tester it look's like a test light but it connect's to you spark plug wire if the light comes on when you cranking you car it mean's you have spark, what also can i tell you man since you E.C.U has been reflash you timing could be off too.good luck

I had that problem with my first car. It was due to my transmission over heating and it would shut off on me when I was driving. I would then have to wait for it to cool down so that it would start again.

On a serious note, take it to a dealer. They charge you to find out whats wrong with it, if you can do it then do so, if not than just have them fix the issue. Best of luck to you.

That **** was on a chevy corsica. I know it sounds funny but it happened to me. That was the worst car I ever had, it always gave me problems.

Probably an automatic trans. Doesn't really relate here.

sorry if I missed it, are you using the stock ecu?

it could be a fueling issue with hot start, if your mods have changed from the stock settings enough.
if you have a standalone , this is a simple fix.

if you happen to think the fuel is to rich at hot start, try opening the throttle a quarter or so and crank at that position. pumping the throttle will not have any effect so if you are lean at hot start you will have to get that sorted.

just a thought, good luck.

i'm not sure where the starter is on the evo's but on my mustang the starter would get very hot due to being close to the aftermarket exhaust. i replaced it with a high-torque mini starter and it's been a lot better.

As an old hot rodder I'd say its fuel related.........pump or filter.

Maybe you are vapor locked. Is your FPR solenoid bypassed? Also, try a different brand of gas. Gas with ethanol is known for this. Finally, when it won't start, check for spark.

It sounds like it might be your cooling system. Maybe a problem with your thermostat, you ecu is reading really high temps and putting the car into limp mode. I had a similar problem with my cobra.

Good luck

My ecu is reflashed by turbotrix.

I have walbro fuel pump.

The damn dealer refused to run a diagnosis on my car because its modified.
On top of that, they charged me $100 for a damn oil change...

I will contact various places to find out what's wrong..
Thanks for your input

It might be the walbro over heating. I would change it out and see if that fixes the problem.

First I have to go with the fuel pump.

Second check your main ground cabling to your battery follow out to all its grounding points. if its is frayed or has bad contact it will start hard a sh%$ when its hot
