Serious Problem,,,please help

I have a IX with about 13k miles on it and all I have done is
full exhaust, boost controller, front mount with piping, and ecutek reflash.

Starting from this summer, my car occasionally died on me while I was driving, and once it dies, it will crank but won't start up until the engine has completely cooled down.

So basically, everytime my car dies, I sit on the highway shoulder for an hour until it restarts,,,

The dealer won't touch it because its "HEAVILY" modified...
and I don't even know what the problem is coming from.

This is getting really frustrating, so I finally seek help.
Any input will be appreciated.

Problem with mine is,, it only does it every once in a while,,
the pattern i found it when i drive it kinda hard and i let it sit in the hot weather,

and I try to start it up, it will start then die,
one more try, it will just crank and won't start at all.

an hour later, starts right back up as if nothing happened.
WTF???
what is wrong with my car??

I had the exact same experience on a bike that I built. Pulled the starter and dremeled the hole the starter stud runs through just to open it up a bit and never had a problem after.

Do you have any CEL on? It's weird that you don't mention anything about CEL... Did ECU reflash blocked/turned off all CEL from displaying????

Yeah, you got to have a good relationship with your service writer at your dealer to even have a chance at getting something covered under warrenty if you mod your car.

they should still tell you what is wrong with the car.. At the least... And tell them find the issue and inform you what it is, tell them not to touch it unless they get the OK GO AHEAD from you.. When they say what it is and what it will cost, be like thanks, and leave..

Deff sounds like the starter though. Had a truck that did that crap all the time, after it ran for a while, it wouldnt start!!! just kept cranking.

sounds like a fuel pump issue to me as well. Try to see if you can hear it prime when you turn the ignition to the ACC position. Take notice if you hear it when it starts and when it does not and that will pretty much tell you if its the problem or not.

It is not the starter. He said it turns over fine, it just won't start.

If it turns over and doesn't light it's from either a lack of fuel or spark. IDK if it is the ECU making a decision that it's too hot to start or if something heats up and doesn't work properly (like a fuel pump).

You need to figure out which one you are missing first. Do you have access to a decent scan tool or some other type of data logger?
