HKS RS intake tight fit?

fitting an HKS RS on my ix and the hks filter touches the bracket of the stock airbox/boost solenoid, the installation instructions didn't help much so i was wondering if you guys cut or removed that bracket for a better fit and did you guys use the bracket hks supplies? thanks for any help and suggestions.

I used the brackets provided and yes, it is normal. I rotated my intake around to make it fit better. No, I did not modify anything.

If you look at it carefully, you can remove part of that bracket. You'll be able to retain the bracket that you really need, the one for the solenoids if you remove a bolt. Take a good look and you'll be able to figure it out. The filter mounts much straighter and nicer that way.

I nver installed the bracket that came with the kit. I removed the stock bracket so the intake would sit better, had that on for about 20k, never once a problem. Also it is a tight fit to get the filter in the spot.

Used the HKS brackets; Angle the pipe from the turbo so it's going up from the turbo, that will give you the clearance. Mount the filter on the highest point. Very fiddly job if you want a good alignment.

I think the intake is good, despite what others say about HKS. Works no problems and gives a nice sound too, which is a bonus. I have the APS bov and it works well, no idle issues and has the best of both worlds, quiet when you want it to be, and makes noise when you want it too
