I have been searching all morning and I must not be searching in the right place.

Let me start off by saying that I just installed it yesterday afternoon. It was a lot easier than I expected.

My only problem is where you attach a mounting bracket looking thing to hold the air fitler in place.

It is where the clamp goes around the blue silicon house attaching the MAF to the Air Filter. I can't get the air filter down that far to attach it. Right now, I taped off the gold bracket that attaches the stock air box so that it doesn't tear up the air filter.

Do I need to remove the old mounting bracket completely to allow the air filter to go down far enough to attach to the HKS provided mounting bracket?

if I remember correctly, you need to remove the stock mounting bracket and replace it with the bracket supplied with the intake. If this is incorrect, someone please correct me.

That is what I thought. I will change it tonight when I get home from work. This intake is loud as crap. I couldn't imagine how loud it would be with an aftermarket BOV.

It's loud...like airplane kinda loud...till the exhaust noise kicks in.
