Should get here, um, hopefully soon.

I got some baseline SAFC numbers from Alfriedesq, then cleaned up the maps to taylor it to my car. Did this on the dyno at BM Tranny. I only paid for 3 runs. I tuned it a little between the the 1st and 2nd run, then really fixed all the bumps and stuff on the curves between the 2nd and 3rd run. I'm sure there's more power to be found through settings, but I wasn't trying to set records. Just wanted the car to make a little power, while staying on the conservative side. I paid for 3 dyno pulls, and paid to use their wideband O2. With the hp and torque curve info, and the wideband O2's output, I played with the SAFC2's numbers and got what I got. It would be nice to have my own wideband O2 though.

Zeus, got your PM. I replied. Hope that helps.
Thanks. I can't wait

Hey Incognito, what kind of A/F guage are you using? Most of the one's I've found have digital rich-lean displays. I think I want one that reads the numbers.

Nice run. I guess the exhaust is a big restriction after all.

You don't use an A/F gauge on a narrow band o2 sensor to tune. (i know some do)

To do what he is, you will need a wideband o2 sensor.. They are ~500-2K usually

I have an FJO wide band, and am very happy with it.

Looks that way to me - also consider the weight factor - this guy was very light and without the exhaust he prob lost at least another 50 lbs

I wonder if he had the spare tire ??

Did you get a chance to look at the track scales?>

Weight is definitely a factor. He said in another post that he dyno'd 280 something with the stock exhaust and a testpipe.

Hey Incognito, when you removed the clutch spring did you notice an easier shift from 1st to 2nd at all? Or did it just help with the slipping?

Glad I could help with the clutch restrictor mod!

Great job on the times! I have to get these HKS cams installed fast or else I'll have Evos running me down!

Were you running pump gas or race gas? If you run race gas, you could probably up the boost another pound or two and lean it out a little. But I'd be sure to run a datalogger before doing so.

I don't have an AF gauge. I used the wideband O2 at BM Tranny to tune. I'd like to get a good wideband OP2 for myself, but they're pricey. Maybe an EGT gauge in the near future.

I did run open exhaust, which probably saved like 40lbs, and I'm kidna light too (150lbs). My car weighed in at around 3380, with me in it. Spare tire was still in the car, and so were my tools.

Doing the clutch restrictor mod didn't help the 1-2 shift. The shift action feels the same (I think the Evo's shifter must be one of the best, if not THE best cable shifters I've ever driven. It's almost as crisp as a direct (RX7) or linkage (Integra) shifter). The clutch just grabs a little closer to the floor, and a little bit quicker, so less burnt smell.

I ran pump gas. Was going to raise boost w/116 gas, but it was brackets, and I didn't want to try anything crazy. Maybe next time.

Thanks for hosting the videos, but I DLed it on my brother's computer, and it won't play. It opens in notepad for some reason, as a text file.

Nice job of showing the EVO flag! Also, very nice bracket races; you broke out on the 12.53 which I'm sure surprised you a little.

To run the files, just rename the file xxxxxxxx.txt to xxxxxxx.mpg. Thanks...

Yes, I broke out on the 12.53 run, with the 12.55 dial. I went ***** out on that run, because the guy I was racing redlighted, so I got the automatic win. I had a n****ty 60 foot on that one (1.81). On my 12.7 run, it was only like 89mph, on the brakes. If I would have stayed on that one, it would have definitely been in the 12.4X's. 1.75 60 foot, and 86+mph in the 1/8th.

Just got back from a dyno session - - took off my exhuast - wanted to see what power gains - if any - would come from exhuast removal

At first - there was NO gain - in fact the dyno curve was almost identical to the run right before it with the exhuast on

THEN - I turned up the boost - and now the boost went higher - much higher (previosuly the boost would only go so high)

The aftermath - just removing the complete exhuast off the turbo and turning up the boost 1.5 psi - I got 17 extra HP over the same set up with boost maxed out but 1.5 psi less and the exhuast on the car (note - the exhuast had a test pipe and a 2.5 " axel back

Conclusion - running the 2.5" axel back w/ test pipe got me 12 HP over totally stock system - - - running no exhuast got me an additional 17 hp

Question - what will a 3" system do? I am assuming it will fall somewhere inbetween the two - or about 20 Hp over stock and about 7 hp over the 2.5" system

These are some really impressive numbers, especially for such low dollar mods to the EVO. I'm pretty damn impressed. This is almost in the domestic grouping for money spent vs. speed.
