I did a boost leak test...

I did a search, but could not find a answer on this.

My stock bov is leaking at about 10 psi, my question is how much power am I loosing from this? If I put a jdm mr bov or a aps bov, will I make a lot more power?

Thanks for the help and sorry if there is a thread on this, but I could not find anything on power loss from a bov after searching.

1 psi lost is too much, so imagine 10. Change it!

leak?

How did you do this leak test? did you apply pressure to the top of the valve as well as the bottom?

through the turbo inlet. The bottom of the bov leaked (the part that went to the intake.)

Sounds like you did the leak test correctly then, if your BOV was leaking thats where it would come from.

The only way to tell how much power you lost is to replace that POS stock plastic BOV with a metal one, either the JDM MR or something else, and bring it back to the track.

Did you apply air pressure to the reference side of the BOV, the small hose?

I flipped the bov to hold psi for the boost leak test. Nothing else leaked when the bov was flipped. I just ordered the jdm mr bov so I hope I get it in before thursday.

Well

If you don't apply the same boost or pressure to the top reference side of the valve (the hose that goes to the intake manifold) as you apply to the bottom of the valve it will and should "leak".
