2.3 Evo IX mr

Does any one know if an evo 8 block works on a IX??

I have an evo 8 and 9 and am planning on selling the 8. It is not running right so if the block swap from 8 to 9 works than i would build the 8 block and put it in the 9 and the new 9 block in the 8. Killing two evos with one block i quess.

Is there any other builds that would be better than a 2.3 using the stock block.

The Blocks are the same between an VIII and IX. The only difference is the head...

2.4L Long Rod, No replacement for displacement. It can rev higher than a 2.3L and has more displacement. But you'll need a new block

Its a 2.4L block (4G64, or G4CS) with a 2.0L crank. Lots of the big DSM guys are running it and revving to 10K. It gives you 2.1L of displacement.
