Tha Shocker! - About the same time you made that post is when I was driving around and my CEL did come on....I now, blame you! I am getting some HKS 272 cams installed and then retuning the ECU with Evolution Engineering next weekend. Not sure if the CEL code can be "tuned out" or not, but we'll see.

AWDTurbo4 - here is my o2 sensor angle:

joshesh - two shots of my exit, absolutely perfect!

CEL cannot be tuned out. Your next best bet would be an electronic assist or something like this:

And honestly I think it should hang higher than that. The muffler should fit into the area, not have a 1-2" gap around it.

Also what is up with the flange not being equal with that gasket where it meets to the TP. If it is not smoth all of the way through that will rob power.

If you go to a decent home improvement store you should be able to get these items. Make sure to take your stock O2 sensor with you or use the anti-fouler as a good reference for the threads.

How will this exhaust work on an EVO IX, isn't the o2 sensor supposed to go in the test pipe?

No, it goes in the section after the cat (or lack thereof) to get the downstream reading.

Joe's_EVO8 - Thanks brother....I'll swing by Lowes/Home Depot this week and see what I can find.

^Did you have any trouble with getting the exhaust tip to be even out of the opening on the bumper?

normal the rear muffler section will only go on one way... not too much to play with back there

Now I have to be a hater....

Why would you spend $100 on that CF exhaust shield just to have it burned by a $200 exhaust?!?

1- is either that shield or the bumper. let it burn
2- I like how that shield looks even with a stock exhaust.
3- you can always sand it down smooth or paint it black. I dont need a body-shop to do that

4-keep it on topic...this has nothing to do with been cheap when buying this exhaust for $240. I paid $340 for a filter kit 3 yeas ago!!!
IMO it is just a SMART buy........ONLY If you get the right one!!!

I'm sure you could have that problem with any exhaust system. Now, why would someone go out and spend a $1,000 on exhaust when you can save $700 and buy a $300 exhaust system that will preform the same as the $1,000 exhaust? You could use that $700 towards more parts. I have this same exhaust and it has been on my car for 11 months. I don't care what anyone says, this is a very good exhaust system.
