As far as the number of dyno pulls, there's no limit on how little or how many you need to come up with ideal numbers... look at my sig, that was made with about 4 pulls in about 30 mins. That's ZERO mods... so it all depends on how good the tuner is and how long they been tuning Evo 9s...

Hey everyone, thanx for the support. This particular car di dnot have a fuel pump so the tune was not done. I couldnt boost more due to this hence the shorter number of runs. This car baselines with 255 torque and left with 290. When all is said and done it will be over 320whp 300 lbft.

Mike thanx of rletting me tune your evo. When you get that pump in we will finish it up and get it rippin the way it should be.

I think that's nice with the mods you got! What did you use ECUflash? Xede? I'd like to use ECUflash and save some money for more mods...

When I order and get my parts on, I'm going to TT

Thanks for clarifying this for us Alfred. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why you only did three dyno runs on it. I guess that even the Evo 9 needs a better fuel pump after all. Glad to see you played it safe with this person's car the way you always do.

I predict he will hit 330 hp when all is said and done.

Warrantan said 4 pulls can be normal depending on the car. What BS . owellz ain't never going back there again. Big mistake.

Thanks for draging me into this conversation

On my home dyno at Pruven, very often I get lucky and I may have a good base flash that suits a particular application very well and my require little or no tuning

The longer I do this the better I am getting and lately my base tunes have been very close

Sometimes we spend 20 - 30 pulls to dial in a car that has problems

Its a flat fee for the dyno time and the tune so when it takes us 30 pulls we just do it

When we see a car which is running smooth and all the data logs are just where we want and the power is within spec - there is NO reason to conduct additional dyno tuining

I like to see at least two pulls identical and repeatable at the end of the pull

After each tune, I take the car out for a 10 minute test drive on stop and go and highway driving and I can tell in 2 seconds if the tune is not on the money after tuning so many hunderds and hundreds of evos

As for the content of this thread, everyone has his / her own methods, but I do not suggest 23 psi of boost on 91 octane - (unless of course the boost gauge is off a bit which is often the case)

TT does a great job so I am sure the original poster will be well served

AL out

I concur and aplify the walbro pump suggestion -

All tuned IX's should consider it mandatory insurance on a very costly car
