Recommended drivetrain fluids...
I have searched up on this subject here on EvoM quite a bit and I have not found a thread specifically tailoring to street driving.
I read a thread about road racing lubricants and a discussion on that...
So my question is... what brand of lubricants would you all go with for a mostly street car with very mild track use? I shouldnt be road racing really... dont have a way to here.
Changing my clutch and flywheel this weekend and want to change all my drivetrain fluids while im under there.
So tranny, rear diff, transfer case.. etc. Any help would be great. Thanks!

OEM OEM OEM! The Diaqueen line is all you should really use, as other products have success and failure stories. Yes there are other options out there, but why risk it? Yes the Diaqueen trans fluid provides for notchy shifting, but it does its job. Im sure many will follow this up with success stories with other fluids. When it comes down to it, if you have a fluid-caused failure, will those people pay for your drivetrain?
Use Diaqueen in the transfer case/diffs. For the tranny use BGII. BG syncroshift I've heard makes for smooth shifts. I just bought some Diaqueen and Pennzoil Synchromesh. The Synchromesh you can find at Autozone if you look hard enough. The BGII you will only find online or specialty shops. Well, at least I didn't find any in town at Kragen, Autozone, Pep Boys etc.. You can also use Redline MT90 in the tranny. Make sure that in the tranny you use a GL-4 oil because the synchros are brass and a GL 5 oil will corrode the synchros over time. GL 4 in the tranny and GL5 in the diffs.
Uh street or strip put Diaqueen LSD Gear oil 90 weight in your transfer case. The rear diff is supposed to take it also, but others get away with Redline or other variants. Same for the transmission. So its pretty much take your pick on fluids except for the transfer case.
i havent heard anything about fluids causing tranny failure. i heard about t-case
and rear diff though. bg syncroshift for tranny and oem dia for tcase and rear diff.
oem tranny fluids are just too horrible for daily driving

Agreed. I don't like diaquenn at all. I use Motul for everything in ther car
Ok... so the safe bet will be to just go with OEM for all of the drive train fluids? I called Mitsu a few minutes ago and the transmission fluid is about 15 dollars a quart. I will probably go that route.
Which fluids would you suggest changing? Its an 03 Evo VIII with 34k miles on it.

GeneralODLee I sent you a pm.
If you go the diaquenn route make sure you get LSD diaquenn. I have heard alot of the dealerships filling the t case and diff with regular gear oil diaquenn

Or just search. Its your tranny, do what you want. I guess I tend to just play it safe...
I used redline fluids for tc/rear in my 04 with no problems. My 06 I use diqueen for tc/rear, but def. BGII for the tranny. It was night and day for me on my new IX, from the dealer it was very notchy (also new) but the BGII really smoothed it out and it really feels great at 2k miles...
