That has to be one of the worst dealership stories I've read on this site. You got yourself an extremely incompetent technician working on your car. Probably some a-hole that was recently hired and has never worked on an evo before. Think about it - he claimed it was a "drag clutch". Who says that, but some hick that only works on "rigs".
1. Go to the dealership and ask to speak to the service manager. Be nice and cool to him. Then ask to be fully refunded for the labor costs.
2. If they say no, then march your ace on down to the local courthouse and file a small claim suit.
3. Have a buddy go serve the service manager and have him bring a camera to capture the image of dude's face when he sees you aren't going to take their shiz.
4. Finally, get some expert opinions in writing from various shops regarding the absolutely horrible job the technician did.
Keep us posted.

the dealer ship that installed it in modesto i don't think im dealing with anymore... tomorrow i'm bringing it into san mateo mitsu... they said they have installed stage 4 clutches before and that they havent had any problems... if it was installed wrong there is no cost to me... if it was installed correctly then there time is on me to pay for... i'm not really worried because there is no way it was installed correctly... i'll keep u guys updated... thanks for making me feel like i wasent the only one thinking i got the shaft...

Yelling and threatening the manager is only going to make you look like a douche and less reluctant to help you with your situation. If he refuses to do anything, tell him you'll take the car to a different dealership and have them correct the mistake. The dealership is responsible for all work performed on the car, whether or not it's a factory part. They certainly don't have to warranty the part, but they do have to warranty their service. Hell even if they didn't want to warranty their service, they should've at least put it in correctly. Don't tell him you'll be filing a claim. Reason? You're giving the manager more time to find loopholes.
Reason I'm telling you to take it to a different Mitsu dealership is because it holds more power in court than a non Mitsu shop. The judge will be better convinced if you took it to a different Mitsu dealership and they had to correct a job that was not performed properly.

ur stupid for going to the dealer in the first place....not only can they void your warranty...but most likely you just paid them 800 to screw up your car and your new clutch
Don't go to dealerships for work. If you look around there are many places with much more competent mechanics. All the good mechanics don't work for dealerships.

First mistake was having dealer installing it. I don't know how different it is to install a twin disc over a single disk, but I don't think they get the training for it at the dealership. I would have brought it to a performance shop for the install.
well i guess i now know not to go to the dealer ship for anything.... but onec i get my car back i'll fill you guys on what happened.... thanks for all the people that gave ideas on what i should do... hopefully everything turns out for the best....

anyways, I read your post carefully in the first thread It reads like this:brand new cluch got f up during install....so it was time to buy a new clutch... i went online and bought my exedy twin disk clutch... got it for a good price.... then i have the dealer install it.... when i get my car back... check this out... they tell me the car wont engage in reverse because its a drag racing clutch... shifting into first can't be done unless you turn the car off... put it in gear... turn it over and the car would start little... hit the gas and ur off... second,3, 4,5 were only possible while driving... at a stand still cant go into any gear... no down shifting at all... i know something is wrong... they said it would get better and thats how that clutch is... i didn't have time to deal with the issues cause i had work and had to take off... does anybody know why a perfectly good clutch in a perfectly good evo 9 would do that... i know something is wrong... pushing the clutch is so hard that my calf wants to cramp up... i don't know what to do...
So basically in that paragraph you got F'ed over by a dealership that doesnt know jack on how to install a Exedy Twin Disc clutch....and you're crying like a little girl cuz it doesnt work right.
Anyway do what you have to do, make the dealer take full responsibility for the F'up and from now on, take your car to a reputable EVO shop. Use the forums, ask knowledgeable people for their advice before you do your next mod.
During my EVO's build I did a lot of homework first before I did any modding. I even downloaded a factory service manual so that I can most of the stuff on my car myself, the only two things I didnt do myself on my car were: doing the clutch swap (since I dont have the tools for it), the meth injection install, the fabbing of my UICP, and the AEM EMS tune....all other work thats on my car I did myself, and I take pride in that

Anyway, after reading the 3rd page of this thread I think I may have been too harsh with you.... I guess we were all Noob's at one point in time....so I feel bad that everyones jumping you for going to the dealership...
anyhow, just see if you can get the clutch resolved by the dealership without inflicting too much pain on your EVO or emotional distress on yourself.....
If you will continue modding your EVO to the skys limit, stay away from the dealership.
