HKS DLI 2 vs Sun Hyperforce Ignition

Has anyone compared the two ignition amps?

I've read the reviews for the DLI-2 but nothing on the Syn Hyperforce Ignition.

I happen to run Hypersun on both of my Evos and they work great. It also allows me to run very high boost on the Evo 8 MR with methanol. We did a 1400 mile trip a couple of months ago and gas mileage was slightly better.

Truly plug and play. I haven't confirm dyno HP gains due to specific conditions that hinder good dyno readings(heat and elevation)

I am dynoing the car again in Phoenix at lower latitude and elevation and I would share the dyno numbers one more time.

The HyperSun is a competition product for much less, you should already know we pay a lot more for the name HKS.

My understanding is that the Sun unit produces only slightly less power, at a better price point. I've yet to test this myself...

HKS & Sun Hyper

I have tested both units on my car.
I had the HKS DLI2 and it ran great until it died. Its at HKS world getting fixed.
Since it died I bought a Sun Hyper Force to try it out hopeing it would work just the same.
It didnt, at least for my car that is.
With the HKS unit I was able to run 27 pounds of boost making 456HP.
With the Sun Hyper Force I was able to boost max 23 pounds before the spark blew out. Needless to say I lost alot of HP. The most I was able to do was 412 HP.
Rather disappointed to say the least.

My mods were exactly the same just changed the ignition amplifiersthe mods are are as follows-

Greddy 25G turbo kit with Type R WG
Tial BOV
3 inch full exhaust no cat
Perrin intercooler
RMR Pipe kit
255 fuel pump
Profec B boost controller
AEM EMS
Aeromotive Fuel Reg
750cc injectors
HKS 264 cams
ACT Clutch
HKS DLI 2 / Sun Hyper Ignition
ALKY Kit

I hope thats it.

Interesting... I'd like to see what someone running OE engine management sees...

I am running the DLI-II and I have to say that I have never had a mis-fire since.
Also I wanted to see what would happen if I stuck some denso's in staight from the box what would happen....I havent removed them since. No problems, even with no gapping. I am running methanol and I dabble around town with 26-28 Psi.

NGK R7376-9 works good at 32psi with the HKS DLI. car runs perfect if this has anything to do with what you talking about...sleeping pill kicking in so my mind is out of it now

HKS / Sun

I loved the HKS DLI2, it worked awesome until it died on me.
The Sun Hyper Force is really nice also. I liked the fact that it came with the ground wires and also the fuse. If the HKS had a fuse it would have lasted longer for sure.
I am now running the Extreme Motorsports COP with the AEM 4 channel. As of now its excellent and I am very happy with it. Nomisfires at high boost no spark blow outs, no nothing. I am waiting on my GT 37R turbo kit from RNR.
I hope my ignition problems will never be an issue again.

I'm using the SUN unit now. I went to the track this past Monday and it held 30 psi fine. I made over 10 trips down the track. I've also made 30 psi runs on the HKS unit with no break ups. All runs were exactly the setup listed in my sig.
