Talking O2 Simulator / Mech Fix?

I have an 06 Evo. I just bought a test pipe and have a few questions about the O2 sensor. Ive done some searching on the forum already about it.

1) If the cel light comes on, this is for informational purposes only right? The car isnt going to change the mixture or anything based on the exhaust o2 sensor, right? and possibly do any damage.

2) Does the Perrin O2 simulator work on IX's? Ive read mixed results. This seems like a good solution, this runs inline with the o2 sensor right? Is there anyway to run it without an o2 sensor and simulate it?

3) On the mechanical fix, this is basically just restricting the amount of exhaust that hits the sensor right?

Thanks

I can't speak for 9s specifically, but if you can solder, the Perrin O2 simulator has worked 100% for me.

CEL light is just a warning, no changes in the tune.

Sweet, thats what I was looking for.

You have to leave the o2 sensor in to close the circuit though right?

Go to Autozone and get two sparkplug anti-foulers.

Cut the end off one, screw it into the other, screw the two pieces into your test pipe, and screw your o2 sensor into the anti-foulers.

Cost's 2 bucks, and is 100% effective.

No BS wiring a $70 dollar simulator.

Funny my simulator was $35 dollars, half the work and totally stealth. If you like cutting metal go with the anti-foulers, if you can solder go with an O2 sim. And yes the O2 sensor must stay connected.

we have pre-made 1 piece mechanical cel fix for $11 shipped. no drilling or soldering required. its made in same length as the ones you buy from auto parts store (2 piece added together).

Get an Ultimate Racing test pipe. It already comes with a built in mechanical fix and you won't have to worry about soldering. I have had this test pipe for 6 months or so and never triggered a CEL for my cat.
