Clanking vibration from tran?
When I let my clutch out slow there is a vibration and a clanking sound that comes from the trans usually in 1st from a stop and it is even worse in revers. It sounds like the clutch grabbing but does not sound normal. It is less noticeable the more the clutbh engages.

I dont even think i have heated the clutch up enought to warp it. Any other ideas? It seems to do it when the car is cold, and is less once it warms up. Also it does it right before the clutch is fully engaged giving a few thuds and then being fully engaged. In revers there is actually something slapping around or so it sounds. Loose Tranny mounts?

Clutch Shatter
My car does the same thing.I think (and hope) it is residue getting stuck to the flywheel and making the engagement rough. If you let your clutch slip a little it does not happen. I slip my clutch a lot once in a while to burn that stuff off and the problem goes away for a few weeks. In reverse, it sounds like the car is about to fall appart becasue the bucking makes the CV joints play around. Any other opinions out there?
Exactly! It sounds like something is about to fall out of the car in revers like something is slapping around. Is it basically just clutch chatter? I will try to heat the clutch up and see how that goes. When the car warms up it does it less. When it is cold it is almost untolerable.

I have a feeling it is this. That describes my problem exactly... I have a bad habbit of giving the car just barely enough gas to get it off the line.. The more gas I give it the less it seems to do that. If I put the clutch pedal back in the vibration stops. Also it is worse in cooler weather.

I work in IT so we must maintain our server 24/7 so there is always someone there watching system stats, and server room temps of the all mighty Alpha Server. We must work to keep it happy and smiling.

Yah. I am finishing up college for IT. Well off to work..... The beauty of IT is computers never stop running. LOL So you work insane hours. Then again I have always had crazy sleeping hours anyway.
Update I burned the clutch some by launching a few times problem solved! No more bucking clutch seems great it just shows these cars need some abuse sometimes!
