The car has 18500 on it now. So from your post I would have to say no because when cruising in 5th and then go to pass someone it will do it.
My car is the exact same if I build boost from a low rpm in a high gear it happens. Also my boost is set to 1.6 boost and if i go hard through all the gears its fine but sometimes now instead of fluttering it sticks a 1.4 bar instead of going to 1.6 bar.

I have a feeling it could be the actuator. But i am not sure not really to bothered as I will be fitting a ams gt35r in a few weeks.

Yeah mine does the same thing on boost. Good luck on the turbo. Can't get a new turbo yet g/f would kill me if I spend another dime on the car with out getting her that special rock.

Sorry just a little of topic just had to say it.

Ok everyone thanks for all the help trying to solve the problem.

Now for the solution to the problem............and a lesson learned.

The Lesson

Make sure your instruments are working correctly. Namely your boost gauge.

I replaced my boost gauge and WTF... the new one was showing that I was boosting 25psi. the old one was showing 20psi. Lowered boost and what do you know no more fluttering..... its amazing.

It pains me to see all these responses. All I can say as at least it seems people are giving it their best shot.

Change your boost controller.

So....what exactly is causing these cars to buck at 25#+ ?. I'd like to understand. Is it a fuel delivery problem, is it the WG...or what? When the thread starter wants to finally go to the track and run more than 25# boost will he run into this same problem? I mean, the problem will reappear if he cranks up the boost past 25# won't it?

My car never bucked just the BOV fluttered. The BOV was doing its job.... the stock one that is

Explain to me how your boost gauge causes your BOV to flutter.

Explain to me how you don't understand what you just did.

Your boost guage did not cause your BOV to flutter, genious. In fact your BOV was not fluttering at all.

You were overboosting due to the cheap parts you bought and or installed incorrectly. Autometer is crap, especially when you install the cheap plastic hose and not a real vacuum line and barb.

Yes I was overboosting. Why? Because the boost gauge was reading the pressure in correctly. So that being said genious.... As cheap as the gauge may have been or is it was the primary cause of the problem. Why go and by a new boost controller when it was not the primary cause. I found the primary cause of the problem and rectified it........ problem solved........lesson learned.

As for Autometer being crap thats your opinion and like A$$Holes everyone has one. And just for the record I am using real vacuum hose not the plactic stuff.
