Service Enginge Soon Light On?

hey guys, i was driving today with my evo 8 and while i was heading home..my service engine light just lit up....I have about 28k miles on it. anyone know whats wrong with it? or what can cause engine light to light on? any help would be appreciated.

currently my car has injen intake with upper pipe, ams intercooler with lower pipe, and a defi boost gauge. You guys know whats wrong with it?

um...no i didn't , but i unplugged my battery and the light went off. this was like 9 months ago though.

You're going to need a tune with those mods. Take it to autozone or pep boys and have the code ran. It's free and only takes a minute.

Just take it to your local auto parts store and have them pull the code if you haven't reset it by unhooking your battery yet.

Then post the code that they pull and we can help.

my car doesnt seem like it wants to die....but yeah..my friend is has the software to give my car a flash so i can scan the code.....and i'll post it up when i get it....thanks alot guys.

Is this light suppose to come on before scheduled maintainence? I got the light at around 4850-4900miles and i assumed it was for the 5k maitainence.

That is not the case for the EVO. If the light is on, it is because a sensor was tripped.
