My first one lasted about 30,000 miles. I went with another one. For everyday driving in stop and go traffic its a pretty good clutch.

The exedy I drove had almost stock like pedal pressure and thats what I'm looking for.

More searching got me this:

Is that true? If so whats "out dated" besides the pressure plate? And why is everyone so quick to push the heavier pressure plate? Shifts a little quicker? Or holds more tq?
I asked this Q to BR. The only difference is PP clamp force. the disks and flywheel are the same. The advantage to a higher clamp load is higher torque capacity, Firmer pedal pressure. I actually did the same thing KJewer did. had an ACT organic after stock. Killed that then went Exedy twin HD that I bought from BR. I received it 3 days after the order.

Thats what I've been hearing too, since this is my daily driver I wanted the softer pedal feel since I'm on the stock turbo and no alch I figured I don't need a clutch for 400+ tq and the regular twin would be fine. But I hear everyone pushing the HD because its quieter and grabs better...I drove a locals car with the Exedy twin and I thought the pedal pressure was perfect but the problem is he doesn't know which model he bought...all he knows is he called AMS and asked what clutch would suite his gt35r setup and this is what they sent him...so I'm hoping he has the HD cause its not really stiffer at all...where as my friends ACT 2900 is rock solid.

I had my twin carbon installed @AMS in Arlington Heights...

Pedal feel is awesome, but I HATE and I do mean HATE the chatter!!! It's primarily when I let go of the gas and it's decelerating. Also, it makes some sort of small chatter each time I press in the clutch pedal. Other then that, it grabs beautifully. I have yet to launch the car, but you can feel how well it grabs and you know that if you were to launch wrong...things would shatter! LOL

The only other thing I don't like about it is that it throws my CEL, giving me the P0300 code, and before anyone says it's not due to the clutch...it is. Never happened before, been happening ever since it was put in, and the misfire is definitely not happening as I did have it checked out. So just be aware of that fact if you go twin. It does happen

i got that code the other day after a boost leak test... not too sure how it's affiliated with the clutch though...

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The HD feels nothing like stock. The SD has a very similar pressure plate pressure to the stock clutch, so it makes sense they will feel the same. The HD has a 2900 pound plate, and it feels exactly like the 2900-3000 pound plate that was in my RRE/ACT clutch.

I love mine except for the small shudder or chatter sometime when taking off from a stop. What is causing this and should i be worried at all?

It's normal. You're running unsprung metallic discs, it's to be expected. By changing your technique you can avoid that for the most part. If I try to slip the clutch out easy the worst I get is a honk or howl from the clutch. No chatter or shuddder. It's effectively the same thing, just less severe (higher frequency, lower amplitude).

I would believe that every Evo would be slightlty different. In my case it took me a little getting used to my new twin disk. I found that my clutch ended up engaging towards the top of the pedal travel. I've since turned the clutch adjusting rod about 1/2 a turn in and it feels much more natural to me and stop and go driving is more tolerable.

I know this is an old thread...,BUT

I just installed my EXedy Twin HD last night, and when i was driving home i had a problem:

WHEN the car is IDLING, in NEUTRAL it occasionally stalls or the RPMs lower where its startingto stall. This is when it is in NEUTRAL, NOT in gear.

The RPMs dip OCCASIONALLY in neutral when at IDLE at a STOP.

ANYONE know whats up

When I had my Exedy Twin HD first installed it did that for the first couple of days. All I could think of was that the ECU was picking up the rattling noise that the clutch was making as some sort of knock. The idle would fluctuate and would want to stall. My twin disk was real noisy the first couple of days when it was in neutral and then quieted down after that. My idle also stabilized.
