I have the Forge WGA (VIII version, of course), and although it does its job, it is not a substitute for an MBC, imo. We'll see how it works, but I have used MBCs for 8 years and without any hassle. IXs make great power with with good boost gains, so hopefully you can get the boost dialed in where you want it with the WGA. It just sucks having to take the WGA arm off and tighten (or loosen) the turnbuckle just to get to the desired maximum boost level. If you have small hands and great dexterity, you can do it without removing the radiator or anything, but otherwise it's an arduous process.

that would require a cam gear on the exhaust we can only move the intake cam with mivec... now the boost going up is going to happen!

VWJEFF, go on with your bad self. Get these cams and rock out!

Greg, back when I was in the DC area, my local shop sponsor VIP Garage had a little Cambodian guy who was awesome and did these exact things for me. I watched him adjust my turnbuckle without removing anything and while the car was hot from me just arriving. He was the man, so I would bring him huge Chipotle burritos with extra hot sauce. That little 130lb bastard could out-eat my 225lb ***, and I eat like a horse. Anyway, I don't have anyone like that to rely on here in CO, so it's tough, hah.

Greg -

I was in the process of installing (just minutes ago) the 280's when I ran into a slight snag. I wasn't prepared for the Mivec sprocket bolt, which appears to be a 12mm hex. The largest socket I had was a 10mm hex. Can you confirm that is correct size?

Once I pick up the right tool tomorrow, we should be back on track to have these tested and the numbers up on Friday around lunch time. We're going to spend time tuning the MIVEC. The MIVEC changes will be posted along with a baseline v. final 280 graph.

The 280 combo makes power @ 4,500 which is dead on where the 3076R spools. This should be very interesting
