You da' man! The exh cam sprocket specs are 65ftlbs - so I'm glad you mentioned in the intake torque #'s.

I'm going to remove the intake cam angle sensor housing with the cam after I loosen the trigger vane bolt. I suppose this is the preferred method.

the tq spec of the little aluminum 14mm hex cam gear cap is 32nm not the actual bolt that holds the gear to the cam that is 65nm.. same value's as the stock evo 9 manual.

also plan on removing the timing belt when you do the job. the mivec gear is filled with oil and will more than likly spill on the belt. so treat the install as if it is a timing belt job and then remove the gears and the cams.

Overall the car feels great . I love the new found useable power through the rpm range ! It pulls great in 3rd and 4th where before it wasn't that exciting ! I am going to get some drag strip numbers this weekend at the local 1/8th mile track . I ran it bone stock and went 8.53 @ 83mph with a 1.86 60ft in low 60 degree weather .

So I'll get some real numbers track numbers to see how much the car picked up at the drag strip .

That is helpful - thank you! I was under the impression the hex bolt held the gear on the cam - but its a "cap" and the actual bolt resides under the cap.

Will the oil begin leaking after removing the hex cap? Or when the mivec gear is removed from the cam?

Nice numbers! But what were the gains from the cams alone?

They didn't dyno it with just the cams...Granted that is a lot of what we want to see but so far this is the closest that we have come too...

we did dyno it. we posted the graph. it was like 11whp increase but after the cams went in the car they made the car so rich it was in the low 10s dipping into the 9s A/F wise its kind of hard to make an accurate guess as to what they would make. clean A/F to clean A/F. and dont forget that with the cams the powerband is shifting so some timing adjustments will need to be made....i wish we could have tuned the car after the exhaust but we didnt have the time.

I look forward to seeing numbers of these fully tuned/raised boost, and hopefully you can get a similar car on the same dyno fully tuned/rasied boost without the cams for a true apples to apples comparison

two different cars wouldnt be exactly an apples to apples. its more like apples to oranges as every car is a little different.
