Speedo not working :(
Speedo not working :(
Hi,
I have a strange problem. I installed the Apex-i power fc a month back and all worked great for a while but since 3-4 days the speedometer on the gauge cluster stopped working. It sometimes works for like 3-4 mins in the morning when i take the car out for the first time but then it stops working.. Also the Power Fc commander shows the speed even when the speedo does not work.... but then it dies too (its sometimes on and sometimes off)... but the SBC I-color boost controller that takes the speed input just from before the ecu harness shows the speed spot on all the time...
What could the problem be??? I thought it could be the gauge cluster but i switched it with a friends gauge cluster and still the speedo does not work...
Any clues... where should I look....
Please help...
Thanks in advance

Yeah double checked all the connections. Everything is connected. It is very frustrating as have got a GT35R ready to be installed but i can't do it until i get the speedo on as when its off the car knocks under more boost than 1.6 bars maybe because the Powerfc cannot understand how the car has boost at 0 speed...

This is a shot in the dark (since I don't have my service manual on my work comp) but I know in the 240sx world the speed sensor was located on tranny and would go bad. Check the service manual for speed sensor and see about working the trouble shooting steps in the manual to see about fixing your problem.
It may be something that simple or even a bad ground
