Rear diff problems in an EVO8

Hi all

I have an EVO8 and it started making a strange whining rattling noise, my Mitsu dealer says that it is the pinion and pinion bearing and that they can only replace the whole rear diff.

I live in Iceland and they are telling me it will cost about 6000$.

Could anyone point me to a US dealer which I would maybe be able to get the rear diff from or any other option ?

I heard that it is not possible to get these parts so I think that my only option is to buy the whole rear diff.

all help appreciated

kind regards
Gudmundur

The internal parts are available individually here in the US. What spec EVO is your VIII (US, UK, JDM, etc...) as certain parts (such as AYC) do not carry over between the models.

I am told that my EVO8 is a JDM, but still it has the steering wheel on the left side.
Atleast I know it has AYC
I will be in contact with you at Works
