Question Over boooooosting...

Q. Got an evo 9 gsr, sweet car, got the HKS high power silent cat back, and installed the o2 housing with the downpipe also by HKS, without a boost controller so im heating the 1.55 bar mark on a defi boost gauge, but then drops to 1.25 or 1.3 bar, which is ok, i have ordered the HKS EVC the latest one found on this link, http://www.jdm-option.com/pr_HKS/EVCimp/index.html , to limit the overboosting issue, so yeah, now my q, is got the super power flow reloaded mushroom looking filter with the turbo pipe....... is it better to wait for the EVC and install both together than actually installing the intake without the EVC... since im woried about the overboosting issue..... what do u think...

IMO you won't need an aftermarket intake until you plan on going with a bigger turbo.

And a MBC or EBC should've been one of the first things you got for the car.

What Octane gas do you have in Dubai?

1.55 bar is only 22.5 psi which is not overboosting. Some tuners in the US tune IX's to run 26psi on 93 octane.

You really don't need the intake, boost controler or a standalone. Just get a tune for the factory ECU, especially if you want to run the intake. The tune will control boost.

Yup. I figured you guys had some stupidly high octane gas. If there is someone that can do custom tune's in your country you will be very happy.

98 octane is almost comparable to some race gas we get here.

It is octane and not RON right?

is this some kind of a joke? or you just honestly dont know? SORT WHAT OUT?

1.55 bar is underboosting on 98 octane.

you can safely run 1.5 bar on 92-93 octane.

you are WAY OK.

WHY DO U THINK YOU ARE OVERBOOSTING?

so when did this become overboosting? and who decided this? 101 is highest unleaded we can get in WA, and thats race gas. then theres leaded 107 to 116.

why do u think ur overboosting u didnt answer me that. 1.55 bar is completely safe with 98 octane.

Most call it quits at 23 unless they are running alchy or meth.
