EVO IX owners... Spark plug gap ?
So I pulled my plugs a few weeks ago and found the previous owner had been using BKR7EIX gapped to .026...but the plugs are 7.5mm shorter than the OEM plugs!! The car was tuned by TTP at 26psi with no knock on those shorter plugs. Then I switched to the OEM plugs gapped at .024 and I started knocking. I am looking at the LFR7AIX plugs but if I was running fine with the shorter ones, I was thinking about just buying those again even though they're shorter but as long as the car runs fine I guess that won't hurt is what I'm thinking. Any opinions?
Okay, heres a brain buster lol. Evo 9 tuned at 35 psi on e85? I put in ngk br8eix gapped to .22 or .24, and the car dont even idle right? So I am getting my car tuned again probally this saturday. I will have stock stock plugs as well. I am going to try the stock, since they seemed to be better at idle. What gap on stock for 35 psi?

Mine are gapped at .022 stock turbo 24psi on 91oct
Colder plugs are a fad. For one, they are not needed on the IX as they are a longer reach plug that remove more heat from the head. Number 2, you are using ethanol fuel which is colder. You definitely don't want a cold fuel with cold plugs as that will be a recipe for misfiring.
