confusion on the 35r

whats so great about it im confused because you can get a 50trim and on pump gas and make a little over 400whp and then you can get a 35r and make 450 whp you spend a couple extra thousand to get 20-40 whp or is the 35r better when you put race gas? is that where it shines?

it depends on what kind of dyno, on mustang dyno 50trim wont make 400whp.

gt35r is at its best if u put stroker kit or race gas.

if u planned running pump most of the time and DD ur car then probably 50trim is the way to go

35r is a race gas turbo. In a LOT of cases you'll see 50 trims make more power and tq on pump gas b/c its more efficient in that boost range.

The 35R doesn't come alive until 25-26 psi thats when it shines! ifnyour goal is 450 whp then get a 50 trim with methanol! a 35R on pump usually makes 420ish and a 50 trim is around 400

i'd have to disagree. i hear the 35r doesn't come alive till after 30psi but thats all subjective i suppose

Ive seen countless people with 50 trim kits and all the supporting mods make over 410whp (w/o meth). Im not to sure about the 35r and when it "really" comes alive, but i know how similar my 3065 is to a 35r and that comes alive at 25 psi.

if u want to run pump gas and boost around 23-24psi, the 50 trim is the best. You will get ~ 430-450whp on the 50trim on pump @23psi.

you will only get ~410-430whp on the 35R on pump @ 23psi.

so yes, on pump at 23psi the 50trim will make more power than the 35R.

Bottom line, if you are a hiway man like me.. you will get need a turbo like the 35r. The 50 trim is a good pump gas turbo but its limited to 500whp on race gas. The 35r on the other hand can make 450+ whp on pump and meth. 500+whp on race gas. 35r all the way.

sucky thing about the 35r is that if you want to max its potential you better look at building your bottom end =\
