new IX, gas drain plug leak?

I just picked up my evo new last night from the dealership. Today when I started my car and I noticed a puddle of gas under the gas tank area after letting it idle for a second. I turned off the car and turned it back on and went for a short drive, this time I saw no leaks.

Any suggestions as to the problem? Gas drain plug not on tight enough?

I think I'm going to stop by the dealership tomorrow to see whats up.

Did the puddle smell like gasoline?

If the problem persist then I would worry about it but as far as anyone can tell, the puddle could have been there already. But yeah I would take it back to the dealer if my car was brand new and something was causing me to worry.

No, gas started to leak right after I started the car so it wasn't there earlier.

Just dropped it off overnight at the dealer. I'll post updates when I get my car back.

Maybe the spot wasn't gas.

Yah for any leak for any car usually i stick my finger in the puddle and see if its oily or watery. And then test for smell. Could be that it is something else other than gas.

Just got back from the dealer. The fuel line was not properly attached and so it was replaced. There should not be any more leaks I hope. I'm glad to have my evo up and running again!
