Case Study #331 - Stock Ecu Controlled boost on a IX with Stage I - killer combo !

I was shocked how much power this stock ecu controlled boost IX with Stage I made

The car picked up 70 tq - the customer did not think he picked "up that much" until he raced his poor buddy with a WRX on the way home who had previously been faster - (previously being the operative word)

Nice numbers, I'd really love to see what kind of numbers I'd put down, I've always been curious to know for sure. Also to see how much Id benefit from a custom tune as opposed to the mail in flash I'm running now... Keep up the good work.

In your case study #330, you had an evo 8 with the same mods that got max 282.9 hp and around like 290 tq. And this evo 9 with the same mods as the evo 8 got max 335.2 hp and around 330 tq. Wow I am happy I got a Evo 9. Lol. on the tuning too.

again, this number seems ridiculously high for being on a dynamics dyno. Out here stg. 1 IX's typically put down 290-310whp on pump gas depending on the bolt ons (tp/hfc,intake,licp,o2 housing, header, etc.) What does a stock IX put down on this dyno? I'm guessing 250-260whp?

"out there" you also have 91 octane **** gas and its hot a hell

We are in fall with crisp cool air and nice 93 octane pump gas

Al, all the evo's out here get tuned three hours away in the bay area where its rarely over 70 degrees from october to march, so that point is irrelevant The gas does put us at a slight disadvantage, but only about 10hp or less from what I've seen.

I think we can fairly say that this new dyno equates pretty close to dynojet numbers as it has the newly calibrated software to make the numbers higher because of customer/shop complaints in the past..

With that in mind..great tune once again Al!

And boost is probably 23 falling to 21.5 I would imagine from previous posts

With the recent DynoDynamics numbers I am starting to think that it's no longer reading low like it used to.
But to Al's work it's a very nice TQ on that graph! I bet it feels great to spend so little on mods and getting such HUGE return!

This is a brand new DD and may have different calibrations from previous DD dynos

However - its still an amazing tuning tool and produces some great running cars
