MAF Translator Blow Through....
We actually used the MAFTPro in full speed density mode. Evidently we are one of the only tuners actually able to get one tuned WITHOUT A MAF and get the car to run correctly.
I have Jestr as well... Where did you get your translator from? Did they have it in stock? And how long did it take to get to you? Yea i didnt want to go the pro either...
I am quite interested to see on how well this works. I have had most of the parts laying around for a few months but has a few mishaps along the way. First off I accidentaly broke the MAF I got from a friend so I had to get new ends for it. Find a battery and tray. Wait on a Dejon billing screw-up. Now just this week my meth pump pressure switch took a dump, and my MBC leaks like theres no tomorrow. So once I get a new pressure switch and MBC the car wont be fully tuned.

Buschur Racing is a MAFTPRO and MAFT dealer as well.

If you remember correctly it was the correct address in WI. it was my last day in WI before moving to FL. I think the shipping was still less than a week, good in my book.

I just received some more PRO units in stock if anyone has been waiting for one. This is the super piggy back fuel controller that has, low-mid-high fuel control as well as an auxilliary map for map switching on the fly. Also incorporates ELECTRONIC boost control and allows both boost and fuel to be toggled from 2 different maps for pump and racefuel or meth.
One of the neatest features is that you can run a blowthru set up with it, stock MAF or NO MAF at all via the speed density option.

I will be using my ECU+ to do the translation.. I didn't post too much about it because I was trying to give it some time to get the remaining parts I'm waiting on, and perhaps maybe some word on the updated electronics for my Ford based unit.

I would not recommend the Granatelli unit. For whatever reason, they don’t seem the play nice with the translators.
For reference, I was using a bone stock 3.5 inch unit off some GM van when I was making 700+whp in my Colt. No stalls, no stumbles, no issues-daily driven. I will be using another translator on my next project.
If you are planning to use the Full-Throttle translator (pic below) it DOES NOT support the 3.5" GM MAF's yet. I think the 3" will be just fine for regular road and some track use.
JP- Jack said he will be using the LT1 unit with what Im assuming is the 3.5" ends. I was going to go the same route but this whole project is taking far longer than I wanted it to. I will have a full installation guide along with initial set-up via Jestr. The hardest part so far is trying to find a decent spot to mount the translator box in the engine bay. I would like to keep the box out of plain view to keep the engine clean looking without a lot of clutter.
So far here is my parts list of what you will need:
Full-Throttle MAF translator box
Dejon-tool UICP for 3" GM MAF w/ Tial flange
Tial BOV
AMS battery kit w/ Odyssey battery
4" home built intake pipe w/ support bracket (being finished up tonight)
25/64th drill bit if you have the SMC meth kit

TTP, i think you need to shot me a Pm IM or Phone call, cause i have some questions about this setup, i have a DD 35r than i NEED to pass inspection, hence the fright for me going AEM.... The Tune is the most important part, I know this, And without management my Motor could turn into 35r soup if the management isnt proper im not going to lie..... Im scared of the Maft Pro idea cause i dont know the product well enough to make an educated choice, i know its a great product and alternative to the sea of Management out there. But Why arent more people running it if its so great.
Again Dont get me wrong, Id love to but i just want to know the Facts......Will this hold up in a 550-700 whp Daily Driver? Swithing between maps when i want too?
yeah, its originally a GM LT1 3" sensor, I added the billet ends which are 3.5" in place of the stock ones because of the honeycomb and smoothing I wanted to do, would have been time consuming..
I do agree about the moisture its always been my complaint about the GM sensors, I had that problem on my corvette.. This is in a blowthrough configuration though so If there is any moisture or condensation, its going to get there when the car is shut down.. The best thing I can suggest is like the other suggestion, keep the moisture from getting in there in the first place, but humid days are going to be difficult..
This was where I always felt the Ford sensor was better..

So where do I add the Damp Rid?? ROFLMAO..
This is my newest project.. I decided to try a GM sensor in place of my older electronics.. I'm doing this for two reasons, first my ECU+ already supports this device, second, I want to see if I can convince the stock ECU to work with the output of the sensor without needing a translator..

I have been looking for the same thing. I have the dejon pipe for now which is fine but isn't very clean looking IMO. I have to wait until Monday to get a hold of Gato Performance here. I'll see what he can do but if it's out of my price range Im going to weld together my own UICP.
