You're exaggerating. He is not used to that feeling, and it CAN be very jerky if you drive the Evo like that - it happens with a strong BOV. It's not like he has been driving his Evo for a few years and all the sudden, it started jerking. This is a new Evo owner with a new Evo that doesn't know not to drive it a certain way. Notice how he said that if he does a full lift of the throttle, then it's fine? Um, well, that should have notified you that this is just normal behavior. This is exactly what happens with strong BOVs and is exactly how you avoid it.

I also didn't sell him anything - I showed him a good path to take for modding, and that was in reference to his Injen question. You act like I mentioned my package in relation to his "problem." That was pretty short-sighted of you - try to read a little more closely next time - there were two separate topics in his initial thread. He also has thanked me for his help.

I'm exaggerating? Those were his words, not mine.

Maybe you should take your own advice and read his post a little more thoroughly. He has owned an evo prior to his current IX, so I'd imagine he would know what feels normal and what does not. From his comment though, it seems as though there is a problem with his stock DV.

Some people choose certain paths of modding for whatever reasons. It doesn't make them wrong or right. Its their car... get over yourself.

I would like to hear from someone else that owns a stock evo IX to validate or refute your assertion that the behavior of the car is normal.

Sorry, but his previous car did not have this DV stock. I HAVE used this DV, and so have many people - this is what happens. Not sure why you'd think his stock DV is bad when the behavior he explained is very normal and happens to many people in the same situation.

As far as exaggerating, I was referring to your reaction, not his words for how he described the sensation. It is expected for someone who doesn't understand the basics to react that way.

As for mods, look at the other responses - pretty much in line with mine. Not sure why you went off on that tangent when what I said makes sense and he has agreed with that assessment. You seem to be fighting me here just because you don't like me as opposed to worrying about what's best for this guy. The only thing you've offered so far is that his stock DV may randomly be broken despite the fact it's displaying normal tendencies. I'm sorry, but I don't have to own a IX to know how Evos behave with strong BOVs, specifically THAT bov, which I own.

who the hell would want a DV that behaves that way then? I have an APS unit which has NEVER done anything like this.

Whatever. I stand corrected since apparantely that is normal. I couldn't deal with it. I don't blame the guy for wanting to change it out.

Yeah man, i KNOW that it is NOT normal. I drove my 05 evo for 2 months, and an STi for the past year, driving the same, and never had this problem...

Warrtalon, im not talking about a little studder, im talking about actually being moved off the seat if not buckled in. I take it though that you have encountered this before? was it fixable? It just kinda sucks that i cant drive at like 15% throttle, its like on or off only.

ANd thank you both for your replies, its much appreciated,
JoshR

Did it lose any low end grunt, like around 2,500-3,000rpm? Did you tune for it at all, or just felt the power diference just bolting it on? Thanks bro,
