I see..... thats good to know...

nice info there TTP... I've done a few inline 4's before... Mostly Honda/Acura sleeved turboed builds and also a few 420a engines... But never a full build in a car. Always on a stand. But your giving me ideas...LOL and i dont think my girlfriend likes you now.. She is watching me as i look over your pictures... and just shakes her head at me. LOL

What he said is not true. There is no reson for u to take out the trans. LEAVE it in. Unless u are boring ur block there is no reason to take the block out of the engine. That is labor intensive. But dont do it if ur not capable, have a pro do it.

You don't have to take your tranny out...and plenty of people do this all the time.

you should also use some wd-40 on the cylinder walls after the brake clean, and wipe the walls down and tell me how much black residue is on the towel (blue shop towel rags). All that crap on the towel is the metal from the walls when you honed it. Keep repeating this procedure until the towel nolonger has the black crap on it I got this advise from Total Seal

TTP, I like your pics, the only thing I didn't like is the 3 stone hone. Any chance's of you telling us what grit that hone you used?
