ARC is overpriced, JDM hype. Can you please post some back to back tests by a non partial third party to back up these claims? I doubt it.. It's pretty I'll give it that, but beyond that, it's nothing special, nothing special at all. Just because somethings JDM and expensive doesn't mean it's the best. Please stop giving the OP false information.

NOW.. as said before, there's some good choices out there, better than ARC The AMS standard core is pretty good, the Buschur ones are good as well. Having said that, Nisei would be my first choice. In testing the older nisei core, not the new comp core, Dave Buschur found it was almost dead even with his race core. That's saying something. The Nisei comp core is available, and is comparable in price to AMS's standard core, and all of Buschur's core's. It's up to you of course, but IMO Nisei provides the best performance, AND the best value.

Blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah.....just curious as to what intercoolers have you owned, tested, and compared to give this enlightened data? You sound exactly like your username sounds. Good job.

OK, sorry, back to the topic...I think rarely will you buy something from Japan that is not of better quality than a US made something. The 'best' anything should be what is best for your application and for the original poster and most people, it is the stocker. If you have the cash, get the ARC. If you do not, get the Nisei Comp. If not the Comp, then AMS. The non Comp<AMS and Bushur race models.

4 out of 6 coolers mentioned in this post are in my possession.

After the install b4 getting the car tuned you could feel a little bit more throttle response and torque in higer gears, nothing mind blowing, but after the tune is was running greeaat and it def did it's job, great quality..

Pics:
Stock vs. Perrin

the Perrin was obvioulsy mush thicker...

On without bumper (drove around the block like this at 2am to see if there were any weaks...that was fun! lol (My neighbors love me )

After install wiht bumper back on. (undertray wouldn't fit after install)

Hope this helps

Hmmm i guess there's no reason why 8 out of the top 10 time attack cars in japan run ARC intercoolers. They probably just think the name sounds cool. And i mean what do they know, they haven't had the car since the early 90's or anything.

"The stock crash bar will need to be trimmed or removed for the installation of this unit. Trimming of the stock undertray is required for this FMIC to fit. Also you will have to cut or remove the front bumper beam." Thats right off the buschur site, the horsepowerfreaks unit bolts right on and maintains all stock parts like oem...

Yup you nailed it, right on the head, ARC is the best, although I don't think the AMS, Buschur, or Nisei intercooler is available over there. So that's a pretty pointless comment. Nice job!
