Is my Clutch Messed up? Or Tranny problems? HELP!
I have an ACT 6 puck Unsprung, ACT Pressureplate, and ACT Prolight flywheel
now i know that the act clutches, and 6 puck clutches make various noises, from squeeking n chatter n stuff.. but im gunna list a few things i hear from when i turn on the car, till i turn it off, tell me if anything seems weird please! ESPECIALLY DOWNSHIFTING AND 1st GEAR
[1] Startup - No noise, can hear clutch spinning like mini chatter
[2] Reverse - Sometimes Squeeks, and rarely makes a loud grind noise, liek somethings rubbing something
[3] 1st Gear - Now more than ever (Especially when slipping in traffic or on hills/driveways) it makes the LOUDDD SCREETCHHH noise that sounds like somethings grinding, and the clutch pedal shakes alot, it sounds terrible basically.. also it squeeks,
[4] Up Shifting - No problems
[5] Down Shifting to 3rd or 2nd - Rare in 3rd, but ALWAYS in Second (Starting tonight!?) it makes that same "rubbing" noise it does in 1st, but only when the clutch is ingaging.. and its very faint, and hard to hear, but if i keep pressing in, and depressing the clutch you can hear like scretch, not loud, but its very noticable.
Now Especially with [3] and [5] is that normal for a 6 puck clutch? or is it a little to loud, especially since [5] just started and [3] is just getting worse?
BTW clutch has only been installed for like maybe 1,000 miles, and only launched twice.
Could it be the install? Should I have it adjusted? (My tuner said not to do it because he's heard horror storys of adjusting it?)

not sure what to tell you bud w/ out actually being inside the car to hear the noises your talikng about.....
try adjusting the pedaly to the OEM specs and see if that helps out at all
Our cars are tricky and there are alot of problems w/ clutches due to installers mistakes
Just FYI unsprung discs are going to chatter during daily driving unless your constanly slipping the clutch at 5K to take off. They are designed specifically for race applications, this is why the manufacturer suggests the modified street disc for daily driving. Take it to a local dealer or your trustworthy mechanic and take them for a test drive and see if they can diagnos it w/ out ripping it apart.

but the chatter is like a LOUD kinda grind, and it also does it when downshifting to 2nd.. now i know 1st is normal, but what about downshifting?
am i hurting the clutch by taking off a 2k rpm every 1st gear?

i think the chattering is normal a friend of mine has a twin cusco clutch and it does the same thing and as for the gears not feeling smooth you must adjust your clutch pedal a little higher then OEspecs this will make your tranny much smoother but just try that the clutch starts to engage at 3inches from the firewall
good luck

Quit whining and take your car to a trusted mechanic.
How can you possibly expect someone on the internet to help fix your car for you?
If you need someone to hold your hand tell your mom to go with you to your favorite shop...
