What should i do for engine management???
I have a 2005 evo VIII and have a turboback exhaust right now and have been running around without a tune for a while now. coming up soon i am going to be getting a slighty larger intercooler ( my stocker broke). i really want to get the car tuned at this point.
the problem is that i dont see any way to get this done that would be good for me. i refuse to take out my ecu and send it through the mail since the evo is my only car and i need it to get around, i was waiting for an accessport but they seem to over priced and they are taking forever to come out, and i have no experience whatsoever on tuning cars so i dont think there is any way i could do it myself.
what options are there for me where i could have interchangable maps perferably stored on myLap Top that i could switch whenever needed and who could supply maps for me? i know nothing about A:F ratios or timing or anything so i wouldnt know if anything was going wrong. also does anyone know of a place in the salt lake area that could tune my car for me? what program would i use and what is needed? i see warrtalon has something where you can change your maps... is that ecutek, ecuflash, what? anyways fill me in on all of this engine management stuff. i just want to get a decent tune without having to mail in my ecu... thanks

you should search in the ecu forums, but ecuflash is free, just need the cable, however i wouldnt start tuning on your own until you know what youa re doing.... ams, dynoflash, and many other vendors have base flashes available.... basically, you pull your current ecu map "ROM", email it to them, with a list of mods, they send it back with a base tune for those mods.... it works

Please do not bump after 11 mins.
And you do not need a large FMIC - it will make you slower (think about it -- more room to fill with air = more time to wait...you dont have the mods for one) Search for a part out and get the stocker back.
+1 bigric09 - EcuFlash...
