DO yourself a favor and check all the headstuds and make sure theyre torqued to specs.. This is one of the problems causing the head to lift= blown freeze plug

is it hard to check the the head studs? Are they just under the valve cover?

Just remove the valve cover.. I dont remeber what the tq specs are.. I would do a search and re-torque them.. When i had a new hg put in the 2nd time..I havent had a freeze plug blow out for almost 24k miles... BUt the shaft seal in the wp took a dump 2 weeks ago, not sure if its still all related

Wow, this makes me want to stay away from the VIII's.

Is it just from the bad torq's?

Mitsubishi sent me a notice in the mail. I took it in to retain my warranty.

Happed to me with my 05. They had to order me a whole new water pump and all. Car was heavily modded but still covered under warranty as there was a TSB on the problem.

Hey guys, I've been looking all over the place for this infamous TSB number that every one else has for the freeze plug/core plug on the water pump. I have found a complaint on it but no actual numbers. I asked three dealers about it and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Some one please help!
