Help anti freeze everywhere!

I got on my car a heard a pop and just thought it was fuel cut. So I did it again and it popped again this time it started steaming from under the hood. I pulled in my driveway and anti freeze was all over the ground. I looked under the hood and under the intake manifold right behind the alternator there is a hole where anti freeze was coming out. It seems to be right on the water pump any one know what that is. Freeze plug maybe?

A freeze plug is the culprit. It happens quite often to 05's and your dealer might/should take care of the problem for free.

DO a quick search and you'll find a lot more info.

Yeah I searched after I posted. Do you have any clue what they do to fix it and how to prevent it from happening again.

From what i understand the problem causing this is the head studs not being torqued to specs causing the head to lift and resulting in blowing out the freeze plug.. After i had the wp replaced the 2nd time they put a new hg in and torqued the head studs and i havent blown any plugs for 24xxx miles but the shaft seal in the waterpump cracked last week and i got it replaced under warranty

When it goes to the dealer I will have them do a compression test. Won't that tell me if the hg is bad or not? Did the dealer change you HG?

Not necessarily. You can fix a freeze plug yourself. All you do is knock it in. I put some gumbo yackum (aka gasket maker) around the edge to be sure. Its an easy fix on the intake side.

What nikkadanny is explaining is the coolant line by the alternator/oil filter housing. Are you sure it's not that hose and not a freeze plug? It's about a 3-4" line of rubber coolant hose..

^^That happened to me yesterday!! Almost all of my coolant was gone and my car began to overheat. I shut it off and looked under the hood and there it was, that 3-4" hose popped off. WHat did you do to stop that from happening again(different hose clamps?)

2005's and their coolant issues. I have heard everything from Wpumps to freeze plugs to thermostats and blown radiators. Good Luck.

I would put on better hose clamps, but the issue being too much pressure in your coolant system may be as a result of these bad heads lifting....

Hopefully you just got a ****ty hose and connector.

Most of the time when blowing a freeze plug it can be due to a bad head gasket, lifting the head, detonation etc... The 2nd time i blew the plug out my car overheated and the head gasket was damaged.. I had them replace it and made them do a compression test.. This time again when the shaft seal cracked, i also had them do a compression test to make sure the hg wasnt bad.. I would HIGHLY recommend doing head studs or even checking the torque on the stock ones

I had my freeze plug blow out on mine, had it repaired with a new plug after that.. It worked fine for several thousand miles but then my water pump went out completely.. Luckily the dealer covered it under warranty for me though.. They weren't wanting to but I took in a copy of the TSB for 05s premature water pump failure and they did.. Good luck, and btw I did a compression test on mine and everything was ok so I didn't have to replace the hg..
