So i got my 35r Turbo kit from SBR today..... and all i have to say is OMG! they polished up everything for me and im still waiting on my 35r To come in thats getting the same treatment too! Welcome to bling city! I was so impressed with the Treatment that i got from these guys over the last few months that i just needed to post up a thread about all that they have done for me. Thanks for your support guys. ha they even switched out the polished Tial Wastegate for a Red one that i had them order at no addition greef. Nothing but class. Car should be outta the shop in the next few weeks!

Thanks Mike, Cragger and Chris. Cant wait to see the setup when its done!
note Turbo in Pic is a 3076 from another setup!

Hand tight on putting in the studs with the assembly lube and then torque to specs of 60 ft/lbs in two steps according to factory sequence

And here is where the Dump tube ..... dumps! What you think?

If you notice the Stock Water Line Has to be Bent and reshaped pretty Serevely. we took our time and it actually came out nice! Also polished the compressor Housing! and Gave it a coating!

Had to Reweld the Flange for the BOV using the BR Mini Battery Kit.

so your replacing the pistons and rods with the engine still in the car??
you fell safe safe by doing this?
so you feel not over booring a little and rinning larger pistons are safe

Yes, All this work was done with the motor still in the car. And yes i do feel Safe by doing this. Overboring to me isnt a must cause the piston walls were fine, the pistons were acutally alittle tight when going in, thats why the Walls were honed yet again, Were talking Thousands here, going .0020 over isnt a whole lot, to me, and the people helping with the build took every single measurment you could think of. But i guess if i make the power that i want then i should prove a few people wrong.

I really didnt realize how many measurements and this and that went into a build but this is also after months of planning, talking to Wiesco, SBR, BR Turbo Trix AMS... ECT... I made up my mind to take this route, not cause it was cheaper...( and trust me it wasn't ) but again, just to see if it could be done. Only time will tell.

thats great please keep up posted on how it turbos out. i really would like to know how healthy this engine would be. how good the leak down and everything. cuz everyone i talk to have always talk me out of building engines this way. i would be scard on how well the rings will seal.

also how did you hone the walls. did you just use paper and put it on a drill to hone the walls? also where did you get the honeing material and what grit?
also did you use a torque wrench on the rod bolts or did you use a rod bolt stretch tool?? what was the stretch?
also how do you like the slow boy racking kit. i hear so many bad things about the kits here on evom. about some fitment issues and stuff?

best of luck to you build up i hope to build my evo to a level like yours soon

I really dont like that deck surface, especially when using a Cometic. You can see the variations from whatever tool you used to clean it up.

I hope everything seals ok.

Looks like a power drill and a wire brush likely it will be fine.

Do you think that by the motor being outta the car the rings will seal better? I used a Ring Filer, to make sure that it was all within Specs. and they were dead on the money.

I used a HONE! not a ball hone, or whatever you guys are talking about.
