Help needed Tranny Removal

I am trying to replace my clutch and am having a heck of a time getting the Tranny free. All the bolts are out and it can rotate and pull out a small amount but will not completetly come out. I have read the how to posted but it is fairly vage on what to do. I have tried moving the rings back and forth but still have no luck. I have broken 2 off the rings off now to see if that would help and still nothing. Any pic's or tips would be great!

I am stuck here in Milwaukee for the holidays until I get this fixed now .

Actually if they are able to come out tonight it will most likely end up being a Evo meet.

Dryad001's friend Nick was saying that I have to push the ring in through the service hole on on the tranny. I did get that tough hard to reach bolt out on the back. The Tranny is rotated 30 Degrees to the right at this point and out about 1 inch so I don't think any bolts are holding it on. It has to be something on the inside. Back to the garage I will see what I can do. Thanks for all the help/Ideas!

Please keep posting them if you have them just in case this doesn't work.

It's probably your throw out bearing. Did you release it by prying it lose with a flat head? If your throw out is not disengage, no matter what you do, your tranny is not coming out. It's a little tricky to get it loose. What are you doing in Mil?

If you need help on how to disengage the throw out bearing, let me know and I'll go take pics of my old fly with throw out on and show you what need's to be done. Hope you can get it out.

It was the clip on the throw out bearing... Well we got it out but now we have 2 busted throw out bearings. Anyone know where I can buy one?

How did you end up busting 2 of them? I think you're kind of out of luck until next week. The dealers should have them but I doubt they're open on the weekends. You could also try calling AMS and see if they're open, go for a little drive and pick it up from them if you really need one asap.

Well It was put in incorrectly. We welded the clip back on so It should be ok, but I need to see if I can get a picture of how this thing is supposed to go back. Anyone have one?

I guess the way it works is the springs on the inside pull the TOB back. We are having a hard time figuring out how to get the springs right to pull it back.

Here's a pic of what I think you're looking for. The top of the spring assembly has a round circle clip, the little finger looking things lock into the clip and holds the clip inplace, center it and push the spring assembly into the pressure plate. It should snap in once it's in. It's been a while but I think that's how the clip goes in and then insert throw out bearing in.
