If you could - please try and describe the manner in which the cams effected the "feel" of the engine and power band

I know for myself the cams really altered the "feel" of the IX

I have done a lot of IX's with Stage I and II which were 11 second cars - this one felt like it had more - it had a certain unchained feeling about it - I liked them
well it feels great the drives great...also it feels like it has a lot more top end power and the idle i just as stock cosworth is the best!!!!
ps. wats wrong about havin the crank pulley???

The stock crank pulley dampens sound and vibration - with an aftermarket one you shorten the life of the bottom end and you increase knock counts which lower power

I use the stock one on my 9 second Evo race car

Crank pulleys are not just a pulley they also double as a "HARMONIC DAMPNER"

Based on the way the curve falls off up top it looks like the stock IX turbo just can't move enough air.. would like to see this setup with a 50trim or a FP3065.

the old graph looks much better...

above 5500 you maintained about 360whp..... now you drop from 370 to 300

im sure it feels quicker in lower rpms.... more v8ish... better daily driver now..

but for the drap strip i would be surprised if its slower...

This is very accurate

The IX turbo only makes " X " amount of air flow at a reasonable efficiency level after that its like a hair dryer

that wouldn't steal over 50whp from the topend...

that spike and super drop makes these cams piece of ****... its a dynoqueen number. and a great daily driver since all the power is midrange.. possibly good at autocross's..

but as far as drag and road racing.. looks like a waste.. i would stick with the stock cams if that was my car... may not feel as fast, but from the graph it looks faster.

each to his own, its not my car. just what i'm reading from the graph.

cheers!

thats what i said.. Personally if i owned a IX i would NOT touch the stock cam set up... Its very well engineered and it was done that way for a reason...

I don't think its a dyno queen number with all those extra area above the original curve. This car must be a blast to drive.

Based on the #s definitely not a dyno queen, but it looks like there is a lot of potential power to be made w/ a turbo that flows better at high RPM.

This is a good example of bad dyno calibration. Thanks, happened to me. Put it on the dyno jet at Imported cars of Stamford. And your high numbers will melt to nothing... Nothing, but average numbers. My car was on A DD and went on the DJ and lost 30 hp
Sorry to burst your bubble.

Also I had "THE SHOP" up in norwalk, CT install the cams and also install the head studs. If you live in the tri state area i highly recommend you to go to "THE SHOP" and let them do what ever you have to do to your car, they're the best in customer service and also once your there they treat u like family. Now to the cams...i had been tune before by AL by the mods i have in my sig except for the cams and i made 358whp and 400 torque and heres the dyno sheet wit the cosworth cams and tuned by the master of flashes unfornatly my header started leaking, who knows what the power would off been if the header wasn't leaking.

a friend of mine just got the gsc s1's installed...

we were dead even almost everyrace be4... our cars we're literally equals..

now he pulls me by a couple cars from a 40 roll by 130

and just for power measureing, we get into 5th gear at 65 and floor it... so its all power.. no driver skill, and he pulls me by 2.5 cars by 130

so theres def more power.... i dont know as far as power gains... but trapping 113on pump and 2 cars has to be a 2 or 3 more mph
