What RPM are you launching from and what style are you using?
What were your 60ft times?

Im trying to find a clip from drag strip in the UK where a Evo 7 did the 1/4 mile 10.3 sec i think.
Im going to find the video clip for you all and you can see for yourself. And its not downhill.

Also, what RPM have you been shifting at?
Last but not least what was your 60ft?

I was Lauching at around 4K-5K rpm and slipping the clutch off the line. I would shift right under 7.5K since by looking at our dyno curves you can see the EVO 8 keeps making good power up to that point. 60' time was pretty poor, cold conditions and instant spool = tire spin (1.84 sec).

Check that your Evo parts links work, I couldn't connect to them today....
We're so swamped with work and busy racing that it's hard to find time to finish the site! The EVO 8 product section should be up soon though.

I susually race my evo off a cliff - that gets me great trap speeds

If you're in Arlington Heights, why not just head south to Route 66 Raceway in Joliet? It'd be farther than Byron, but the track is LEVEL.

Just watched John Force down there last Saturday. 4.55 at three-hundred-something.

I work in Arlington Heights (corner of Arlington Heights and Algonquin) and I can tell you that Rte.66 would be worth the drive.

Oh yhea, awesome run, downhill or otherwise.

hmmm

hey AMS, good solid run.

Just wanted to make a comment here....

you guys should be happy he has provided a video instead of trying to down play his efforts in that the track is downhill or whatever.

If it is a sanctioned track, i think it is fair to say that time is legit eight way the grade % is.

Congrats AMS, keep those videos coming!

ps- don't hate... ;-)
a little more of that and you guys will start seeming like other online forums that miss the point and flame about utter stupidity

just my 2c
