Intercooler:

I did a search and really didn't come up with the answer I am looking for. I am looking to replace my FMIC because the fins on my stocker got pushed in when replacing my bumper, (Took it off to mess around with a bodykit my friend had). I really don't need one because I don't plan on doing a turbo upgrade and really only planning on modding up to around 375hp to 400 hp (putting down 360 hp now), but because my stocker got damaged I would like to replace it with one that will not break the bank. I know AMS and Buschur are two of the most popular and they are great products but I don't think I need a $700.00 FMIC with the power I plan on making, or do I? Does anyone have an opinion on which FMIC would be a good fit for what I am looking for and all that would be is a good stock replacement without buying another stock unit.

I dunno I would go with a ams or buschur for the consistency and they definatly have the best PSI drop

The other FMIC I was interested in was the XS Power but I could only find some discussions on this one comparing it to AMS, Buschur and other big name companys. Obviously it won't compare to their cores but is it a good stock replacement piece?

the buschur intercoolers are $695 for the intercooler and the piping if you are truely putting down 360 whp like what i am assuming i would definately recomend an upgraded intercooler. why not spend the few extra dollars and actally add some performance at the same time? stick with the buschur or ams intercooler so that you will get added performance and looks.

correction the buschur only comes with the lower pipe but it is still a good idea. if you are putting down 360 whp now and you are shooting for 380 whp the intercooler and licp could get you that extra 20 whp you need.

Only Buschurs Deluxe kite comes with the lower for 700. THe BR Race and AMS Street are 700 4 just the I/C. Im still debating between the 2.

I once had a Nisei engineering IC which cost me $695 shipped. The Nisei was bigger than the AMS and the Buschur however I sold it because it was a overkill for my stock turbo.

Despite I once did not recommend this intercooler for the stock turbo I now recommend it for an upgrade turbo. It fits perfectly, it falls under your budget and it will do the job.

my vote goes for the Buschur deluxe....great intercooler w/ very little pressure drop and comes w/ a licp. best value on the market IMHO

Well those are the answers I was looking for, I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to, But if you think that the power I am already putting down requires the better intercooler than I will definitely spend the money for one of the better front mounts. I am already running the AMS LICP so I quess I will just stay with them and get there front mount. Thanks for the input guys.
