Broken boost sensor: MBC = Quick fix?
Broken boost sensor: MBC = Quick fix?
A while back I accidentally broke my stock boost sensor while trying to do a boost leak test...somewhat of a story, so I won't get into it. Anyways, the car now boosts about 23psi with no form of boost control, and I can't floor it in 3rd gear or above otherwise I hit fuel cut.
I'll be buying a MBC real soon here, and am just curious if it will bypass the stock sensor completely. Here's a couple pictures of what broke off:

(there's supposed to be another plastic tube piece right next to the other one)

Do I need to keep the actual unit plugged in, or can I simply unplug it and leave it be? There's no way to get that plastic piece attatched back to it (for one, I have no idea where it is), so I either have to buy a new boost sensor, or hopefully I won't need to do anything if I install an MBC.
If anyone could shed some light, that'd be great. I looked at the install instructions of several MBC's, and I'm aware that the tubes connecting to the boost sensor don't need to be attatched, but I'm unsure after that.
Thanks!

yes an mbc will fix the problem of not being able to control boost, but you must keep the sensor plugged in or you will throw a code....just keep an eye on the boost til you get some form of a boost controller and dont hammer on the car
the SES code is "turbo charger over boost" i have the same code, n your not hitting "fuel cut" its a "BOOST CUT" because your cars over boosting, your ecu doesnt let it continue to boost, thats the pop pop pop ur probably hearing
