Recommend me some gauges?

I was thinking of getting the hks camp unit, but it might be over-kill. I was thinking of getting just the boost guage like this.

Are there any necessary gauges i need. Also any recommendations on gauge companies since i have never done with them first hand. I noticed most companies are using blue indiglo, i was hoping for something to be black on red or white on red similar to the evo's layout just for a clean look. Speak your mind and enlighten me

If matching your interior is the a concern, then go with HKS... I got Defi but they only illuminate green with white or black face. Just make sure you pick a company that makes various types of gauges. This will help you expand in the long run with mods. I have all except Tach (don't need... another than stock) but looking around for a good shift indicator.PEACE

ya i was thinking of something like this. I noticed in the STI they had a tach light built in when you redline, only few things i liked in the sti. i don't want a seperate tach but maybe i can add a small led to tell me when it hits. is there any way in doing this.

Over here we have few companies that make shift indicator lights... SARD and PIVOT just to name a couple. For the states i think maybe Autometer?? not for sure. Saw some decent ones on NOPI PEACE

Defi makes good stuff, but it is also expensive. I have the Defi Heads UP Display boost and turbo timer. It is green and projects onto the windshield. I put it at normal eye level, and a little to the right of my normal line of sight. It has two warning lights, a yellow one and a red one and there is a numerical as well as an analog LED indicator of boost. It is really cool, and not many people have ever seen one. Aside from that, I like boost gagues to be as visible as possible, so projection type as well as A piller mounts are better for me. Also, you have to keep in mind where you are going to mount them so you know how many you can have! Also some people suggest a fuel pressure gague, but that is pretty radical for a street car. Just my .02

Is that Defi HUD clearly visible during the day when it's bright out? It sounds kindof interesting. Any pics?

Just keep in mind that if you are going to buy gauges go the extra few bucks and get ones with a memory. Theres nothing like trying to haul *** and scan over your gauges at the same time to see what the car is doing. Doesn't make for a safe end result trust me. My buddy found out the hardway. "Well I was checking the exhaust temp to make sure it was under 9"!

Best gauges cost vs effectiveness: VDO. Nothing can touch them as far as gauge and sensor quality for the price...of course they don't look amazing like the Blitz BL's (if you've seen either or both), but they make black and white faces and I think they both look quite good.
