20G-9-5 to 20G-LT

i am currently running buschur racing 20g-9-5 fully ported and polished... after doing some reading on 20G-LT.. im quite impressed... would it be worth it to upgrade from their 20g ported and polished to 20gLT? or does anybody know if they do an upgrade to change to a larger turbine LT... ??

If your gonna spend the money on an upgrade, why not go a little bigger? 3071r? 3076r? 50trim?

Whether it is worth it depends on what you want to get out of it. If you want ~30whp or more and feel $1000 for the upgrade is worth it, then it is worth it.

Personally I feel that it IS worth it - that is why I have an LT in my living room right now waiting to take the place of the 9-5 that is currenty on the car. . .

Just for perspective, from where you are now you can get +/- 30whp for $1000 with the LT. Or you could get +/- 80whp for $3000-$4500 with a 40 trim kit (and more lag)

I'm on the stock ix turbo. I havnt experienced the 20g but in my opinion instead of going with a fat turbo on stock internals I'd stay with the whole evenly distributed torque....in my opinion its like do you want 400whp and low 300 torque or 350whp 350 torque....its hard to tell which really would benefit you...? But I'm waiting for more people to test the lt before I buy it and cams. Can't wait....

In my opinion it isn't worth it, and I do not believe you will see 30whp gain. 30whp or more would be possible going from a EVO VIII stock turbo to the 20G-LT, but going from what you have to the 20G-LT wouldn't be a dramatic improvement. I think your looking for more power, but want to keep near stock spool, then a 50trim or 3076 would be great.

Dave's car is not a great car to compare to the average EVO owner, just because his car gained 4mph doesn't mean your car will, his car has a hell of a lot of work done to it.

Hey I could be wrong though, it's your money, do what you want and what makes you happy.

. . . . .
Can you prove that. Just because you don't believe does not make in any less true. There are dyno charts out there that show it makes the power . . .

I understand your point and the thought behind it, but I must disagree with you. Just my opionion though. I will have the new turbo on the car and dyno'd the first week of Feb - so then we will see if I can get +30whp over the 9-5.

FWIW, I think a strong stock VIII turbo car on Buschurs dyno makes 330-350whp. The 20g9-5 cars make 360-380. The LT's are coming in around low 410-420.

Did you read my last sentence in my first post, oops gues you missed that one. Hey just my opinion, but if you got proof other than Bushur's heavily modified car then by all means share.

maybe those stock turbo 8's are making that on meth, but certainly not on pump on BUSCHUR's dyno.

i'd say the average for evo's on pump on the stock turbo is around 330-350 on a dynojet, certainly not the low-reading buschur mustang dyno.
