A chunk of my oil bracket fell off while driving. WTF?

Sup peoples,
While I was driving the, a chunk of the oil bracket (the big metal block the oil filter connects to) broke off and all my oil leaked out. I was just cruising around when this happened =/. I don't drive hard AT ALL. I am usually 99% of the time drive 5MPH under speed limit. Never tracked, dragged, etc. So I don't understand why this would happen? I am assuming the stock nut from factory that was there was over-torqued from factory and it caused too much stress over time. I am very sad :'(. Do you guys think this will be covered over warranty? I am thinking of having my car towed to the nearest dealership and seeing if they can replace the thing. My only mod is a catback. Here are some pics:

Take the exhaust of immediatly!! put the stock back on, and take it back to the dealership. They may give you hard time, but they have to fix it. Dont mention anything about having an aftermarket anything. Even the stupidest, little thing. Car needs to be BONE STOCK, sounds a little insane I know, but Mitsu will try and find any excuse to not have to fix this. Unless your dealership is one of the 1%-2% that is cool. I'd hate to see you pay out of pocket for something like this. So, good luck gettin this taken care of.

It better be or I will raise hell! Good thing I kept the stock catback... it's going to be a pain in the *** to replace because I don't have the tools to switch them out. So I would have to get it towed to a shop, and towed to the dealership. Does Mitsu offer free towing?

I doubt you'll have an issue, but there's plenty of stories about warranties being denyed over the dumbest things. So dont take a chance with something this expensive.

Not to be a naysayer, but if it randomly broke off, how did you find it? Also, your undercarriage looks really clean for dumping all the oil out of it while driving.

Well if you want to know, I wasn't going like 80mph when this happened. I was cruising around my neighborhood because I just got my boost gauge installed and wanted to see if it was working. I was going around 5MPH or so when my friend called me and told me to come back because he saw an oil leak. We moved the car into my driveway and cleaned up the mess, then I took pics. It's kind of hard to see where the problem is when the oil is all over the place, right? I am not gonna go under there and take pics with oil dripping all over my face and my camera. If you look closely, you can still see some fresh oil around there.
